Immigrant person of color, believes in “white supremacist” ideals like merit and math. Judges people by the content of their character, not their skin color.
• Blame your government
• Blame the economy
• Blame your boss
• Blame your lack of privilege
10 years from now, two people with the exact same circumstances can end up in two drastically different places.
All due to ownership (or lack there of)
David Friedberg says this isn’t Suicidal Empathy, these are Armchair Do-Gooders.
He is referring to the French woman, who yelled “Do you know who I am? I am an activist who advocated for you all” as rioters destroyed her store.
FRIEDBERG: “The look on her face, which was like, ‘What the hell happened,’ is meant to be this moment that sort of captures the zeitgeist of what some people call Suicidal Empathy, but I think it’s much more about being an Armchair Do-Gooder.
An armchair do-gooder is someone who kind of sits at home in a nice home in the suburbs or wherever they live, and they say, ‘Let all the people in, take care of all the people.’ But as soon as the people show up to their front step and says, ‘Can I come and stay in your house?’ the answer is no, of course not.”
“Someone else has to deal with it. Someone else has to house you. Someone else has to feed you. Someone else has to give you a job.”
We’ve all seen this play out in the man-on-the-street interviews where people say they support policies that let immigrants in, but when it’s time to house them, suddenly they have no room.
JASON CALACANIS: “We called this Limousine Liberals.”
There have been many names for this. Rob Henderson calls them luxury beliefs… Open borders is one of his own examples.
Everyone always seems surprised to find out their actions have consequences.
In 2021, the head of the UN World Food Programme said $6 billion from Elon Musk could solve world hunger.
Elon replied: publish the plan, right here, publicly, and I'll sell Tesla stock on the spot.
The plan came out. And when you read it, it wasn't a plan to solve hunger. It was one year of food for 42 million people. A twelve-month subscription. And the year after? Start over.
A few months later, Elon summed up his view: if you care about the reality of goodness rather than the perception of it, philanthropy is extremely difficult.
"Reality of goodness over perception of goodness."
That line stuck with me for weeks. Does philanthropy actually work?
Gates-style philanthropy is first and foremost institutional capture. Foundations funding NGOs, funding governments, funding programs, producing reports, producing photos. Everyone's happy, and the aid machine keeps itself alive. Sixty years and hundreds of billions later, much of Africa is still dependent on aid. Zambian economist Dambisa Moyo laid it out in Dead Aid: aid breeds dependency, feeds corruption, and short-circuits the only mechanism that has ever lifted a country out of poverty.
So what actually works?
It's been tested. In Kenya, Berkeley researchers working with GiveDirectly randomly selected villages and gave every poor household about $1,000 in cash. No program. No training. No conditions. Just cash.
The result: people bought metal roofs, livestock, started small businesses. Barely any inflation. And every dollar injected generated around $2.50 of economic activity locally, including for neighbors who received nothing.
Why? Because you didn't give them charity. You gave them capital. You primed the pump.
And that's where everything hinges: ownership. Hernando de Soto showed that the world's poor hold trillions of dollars in assets, but without recognized property titles, it's dead capital. You can't borrow against it, pass it on, or grow it. Where property rights are respected, the system starts running. Where they aren't, no amount of aid will ever be enough.
Now reread Elon's post.
"Next year, I will give one of my SpaceX shares to every kid in America. This will be the first of many."
That's not a meal. That's not a handout. That's a property title. A piece of the company building the infrastructure of a multiplanetary civilization, owned directly by millions of kids.
A kid who gets a handout depends on the state. A kid who owns a share of SpaceX owns a piece of the future. He learns what an asset is, he has a stake in the economy working, and one day he'll vote as an owner, not as a client of the state.
Gates buys perception. Musk distributes ownership.
The reality of goodness versus its perception. And it's absolutely brilliant.
My post about France went viral. Thousands of likes. Many Americans told me: "Democrats aren't socialists. America will never be France." I want to answer that seriously, step by step.
Start with a simple observation. Look at what has gotten cheaper in America over the last 25 years: TVs, phones, software, clothes, toys. Now look at what has exploded: college tuition, healthcare, childcare, housing.
What separates the two lists? The first lives in competitive markets. The second is exactly where government is most involved: subsidies, mandates, licensing, zoning, regulation.
College. Washington lends students almost unlimited money. Universities know the money will always come, so they raise tuition and hire more administrators. The student pays the bill for twenty years. More government money, higher prices.
Housing. Why can't a nurse buy a home in the city where she works? Not because of capitalism. Because of zoning laws, permits, environmental reviews, years of procedure to build a single building. The most expensive places to live in America are the places where it's hardest to build. When building is nearly illegal, prices explode.
Healthcare. The patient almost never sees the price. A third party pays, regulations limit who can compete, and costs climb year after year with no one able to say no.
So here is the trap. The problems you suffer from are not the failure of free markets. They are the places where the market has already been replaced by the state. And the solution you're being offered is more of the same.
That's the Trojan horse. It always works the same way. A real problem. A generous-sounding promise. A program that makes things worse. Then the failure of that program becomes the argument for the next one. People who lived under communism in Poland learned to recognize the lie and the mask the lie wears. The lie never presents itself as a lie. It presents itself as compassion.
In France we are at the end of that road. Debt we can never repay. Young people who can't afford a home. Our best people leaving. And every few years our cities burn. Nobody voted for this. They voted for one more generous promise, fifty years in a row.
If you're a Republican, share this with the Democrat in your life. Not to win an argument. To start a conversation.
If you're a Democrat, I'm not asking you to switch teams. I'm asking you to look at the pattern. Wherever the state took over, life became unaffordable. Don't fix the failures of government with more government.
Stay American. Ask for less state, not more.
Of course not! They wouldn’t be the mouthpiece of propagandist if they said it was terrorism related. Why do people still read NYT is beyond apprehension
American teens are becoming straight again, with - especially - female bisexuality in sharp retreat in the youngest cohorts.

@MattMahanSJ@SusanDReynolds@SanJosePD Why do we have judges that fail our system??! How do we get rid of them?? Clearly they are the ones giving the “get out of jail” passes…
@DanielLurie Great stuff!! Let us also know what you will do with the drug dealing bit…everything is for naught if we can’t take away the access to these drugs when they are peddled in front of the addicted!!
💯 this. Lib women thinking this is the way is going to screw the rest of us *sane* women who think she should go to jail and burn in hell. If this can be the excuse, whats stopping men from using 'hormones' to justify rape??
I don’t understand. For decades, feminists have argued that women have full control over their minds and that even pointing out mood changes during a cycle is just male misogyny.
Now, that entire argument is getting thrown out the window because the Lindsay Clancy defense is literally claiming in open court that hormones can turn someone into a deranged psychopath capable of child murder. It’s wild to watch that narrative completely flip.
A not-guilty finding based on hormones and insanity would have crazy implications. For example, if hormonal states can legally erase accountability, why wouldn’t they also affect fitness for jobs, high-pressure decisions, firearms, and parenting?
Courts cannot treat a woman as legally insane for the worst possible act and then pretend the same reasoning has no implications anywhere else.
Also, Lindsay Clancy is no more insane than Jeffrey Dahmer, who was diagnosed with borderline personality disorder, schizotypal personality disorder, and a psychotic disorder, and yet, he was still declared legally sane at trial. For the sake of those children, and for the sake of all the good that’s in this world, I hope the jury makes the only sensible decision here
Stanley & his family are incredibly brave. Ive spoken to Stanley’s dad and no law firms would take his case so he had to use multiple AIs to sue 4 colleges across the country, including U of WA & a UC. This is more than about colleges illegally using race-based admissions, this is also about discrimination against citizens vs illegals - where the DoJ is now suing 21 states for giving preferential treatment to illegals eg instate tuition. These are top spots given to 1/3 of stem kids who cant do middle school math at UC Berkeley calculus class. Why? BC critical race theory indoctrination has become pervasive in DEI hirings + admissions, where privileges like citizenship, being White or White-adjacent needs to be dismantled in “racist” or “oppressive” America. It’s anti-American and illegal. Taxpayer funding must cease at these schools until they are in compliance.
This is why Friends of Lowell is suing sfusd over Voices Liberated Ethnic Studies, which is pushing this indoctrination to all 9th graders, trojan horsed as multiculturalism. What can you do about it? Help them fund their legal battles - doesn’t matter the amount - if families gave even $5 or $10, we can ensure every American child gets a fair opportunity at a quality education.

I think that Trump renaming Lake Ontario to Lake America is pointless and stupid.
Wanna know what else I think is dumb?
The fact left-wingers are triggered about this after they spent the last decade plus renaming sports teams, public schools and universities, streets and highways, food and condiment brands, and redefining half the dictionary altogether.
