I see your profile picture. That’s Johnny Cash. My hero too. Arrested seven times. Smuggled 668 amphetamines across the Mexican border in 1965. Took every drug there was and drank like I did. Cheated on his first wife. Slept with more woman than I ever did. Hit bottom in a cave in Tennessee in 1968 trying to crawl off and die. And then he got up. He got clean. He spent the rest of his life singing for prisoners and addicts and the people the country threw away because he knew he was one of them.
That was the whole point of the Man in Black. He wore it for the poor and the beaten down. He wore it for the prisoner who has long paid for his crime. He wore it for the ones who never heard a word of Jesus. He wore it for the addicted and the dying. He wore it as a standing witness that no one is past saving.
You picked his picture. You did not pick his message. Try listening to the words.
@chirno_helmet@roikfbuwgc254 Grew up in CT, now in Maine. Each state with its own style lobster roll.
CT - lathered in butter, hot
ME - mayo, cold (sometimes celery)
Maine style is okay, but if you find yourself in coastal New England, get your roll CT style. So much better.
Does JP do lobster?
I remain fascinated by the "Pre-Slop" genre, stuff that dated AI by years, even decades, but foresaw where all "content" was ultimately going. Peter Gabriel dropped this in 1992! Prescient AF.
@MarcoFoster_@_iamblakeley@TimJDillon As soon as he went MAGA I dropped him. Dude was either being paid under the table or is dumb as shit. Sad as he is funny, but lost all respect for him after he fell for the woke trap
@willmenaker@PedroRivie95096 Mainer here,we’re realistic about the potential for another 180. But it’s still worth the try.
Few years ago a lot of formerly apolitical deep Mainers started teetering with con ideology (lobster-reich?). With GP we’re seeing them swing back. A lot had to do with Mills.
Back to have a look around the place. This is like visiting a school I once attended. Even more so when I think about the mental decay of each passing generation.
