Batman isn’t killing because the world needs to, or otherwise he would confront Superman with the most logical and safe strategy, instead he wants to humiliate Superman, which means there was no urgency to kill or be uncaring

The Superman threat is so big that Batman supposedly cannot waste time with the no killing rule but at the same time, it's not a threat because otherwise Batman would deal with it logically and instead is risking it all to humiliate Superman
