it’s the same reason we wind up getting diagnosed as adults. the antisocial behaviors like meltdowns are reduced to gendered expectations. an autistic girl or woman having a meltdown is just “bratty” “entitled” or a “drama queen.” but when a boy/man does it, it’s concerning 🥺
