Today, we remember Friedrich Engels, one of the two great teachers of the modern proletariat.
In Lenin's words, Engels, along with Karl Marx, "taught the working class to know itself and be conscious of itself, and substituted science for dreams." Red Salute, Comrade!
Today marks the 117th birth anniversary of Comrade EMS, one of the foremost leaders of the Communist movement in India, one of the founding leaders of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), and one of the most influential communist thinkers of the country and the world.
After leaving college in 1931 to join the freedom struggle, Comrade EMS devoted nearly seven decades to building the progressive and working class movement in India. A brilliant Marxist theoretician and a prolific writer, he made outstanding contributions to the application of Marxism-Leninism to Indian society and to working out the strategy and tactics of the Indian revolution. He served as the General Secretary of the undivided Communist Party from 1962-64 and of the CPI(M) from 1978 to 1992.
EMS represented the coming together of the two streams of the independence movement, the anti-imperialist and the anti-feudal struggles, which laid the foundations for the development of a powerful communist movement in Kerala. He was one of the key proponents of Aikya Keralam, which led to the formation of Kerala as a unified linguistic state in 1956. He served twice as the Chief Minister of Kerala, heading the first elected Communist ministry until it was dismissed undemocratically in 1959 and later leading a United Front ministry from 1967-69, thereby paving the way for the state's progressive transformation.
EMS lived a life of sacrifice and simplicity, spending three years in jail and six years underground. His leadership in rallying Left, democratic, and secular forces was invaluable. Comrade EMS set an example that has inspired tens of thousands of communists across the country.
Red Salute, Comrade!
We remember Birsa Munda, legendary adivasi leader, freedom fighter and warrior against feudal landlords, on the 126th anniversary of his martyrdom. We take inspiration from his anti-colonial legacy and uncompromising fight for adivasi control over jal, jangal and jamin. Ulgulan Zindabad!
"If Fidel is the horse, Raúl is the boldest and bravest rider."
Raúl Castro Ruz, Hero of the Cuban Revolution, completes 95 years of age today. His exemplary life, dedicated to the defence of the Cuban Revolution, is a symbol of the dignity of the Cuban nation. The illegal indictment of Raúl by the US Department of Justice and the Donald Trump administration’s threats of military invasion against Cuba, amidst an intensified blockade and aggressive military posturing, only attests to the strength of this tiny island nation in steadfastly advancing on the socialist path for 67 years under the very nose of the Imperialist hegemon. Cuba and Raúl will not give in!
Long live Raúl! Cuba is not Alone!
¡Hasta la victoria siempre!
We condemn this blatant attack on the freedom of expression of our Youth.
Why is the Government so scared of a little bit of Sarcasm?

“History remembers those who stood with the oppressed, not the oppressors.”
On the birth anniversary of Ho Chi Minh, remembering a revolutionary who dedicated his life to anti-imperialism and national independence. 🇻🇳✊
Today marks the 136th birth anniversary of the great Vietnamese revolutionary Ho Chi Minh, who led the struggle against the Japanese and French colonialists and the victorious war of resistance against US occupation. Ho Chi Minh built the Communist Party in Vietnam and led the people to victory against both native and foreign oppressors, inspiring whole generations of youth across the world and rearing them in anti-imperialism.
Ho Ho Ho Chi Minh! We Shall Fight, We Shall Win!
Today we remember Comrade EK Nayanar (9 December 1919 – 19 May 2004). Comrade Nayanar was a prominent leader of the CPI(M), a beloved leader of the people of Kerala, and a dedicated revolutionary.
Nayanar belonged to that generation of Communist leaders who were drawn into the freedom struggle at a young age. He joined the Communist Party in 1939 and became an activist in the kisan movement and an organiser for the Party. He was part of the historic peasant upsurges in Malabar, including the Morazha and Kayyur struggles. Comrade Nayanar was one of the 32 National Council members who left the CPI to form the CPI(M). He served as the Secretary of the Kerala State Committee of the Party from 1972 to 1980 and again from 1992 to 1996, and was elected to the Polit Bureau at the 14th Congress in 1992. Comrade Nayanar was elected to the Kerala Assembly six times and served as Chief Minister three times. He was the longest-serving Chief Minister of Kerala, holding office for a total of 11 years. As a Communist leader, he was above all a man of the people.
Lal Salam Comrade Nayanar!
