🚨 ANNOUNCEMENT 🚨
25 years ago, I held the first ever Halo LAN party at my house. My campaign is now working to put on an old school Halo LAN tournament in Las Vegas! With all the OG consoles, games, and cables.
We wanted to hold this event at the HyperX Arena— but they cancelled on us last week due to our "political affiliations."
As we work to secure a new venue and lock in the dates, if you're interested in participating in this once-in-a-lifetime event, you can show your interest by signing up here: https://t.co/9Q9rPOFCKN
Surf Dracula is the single most accurate description of how our media has become mediocre. Don't forget this example - you'll see it everywhere now that you know about it.
Hollywood is afraid of pleasing their audience. Either that or their goal is something different from pleasing us. Bring back exploitation movies!

PlayStation updated its Terms of Service in April 2026, and Section 21 outlines how inactive PSN accounts may be closed.
> If a PSN account remains inactive for 36 months, Sony may begin the account closure process. The account holder will receive an email notification and has 6 months to sign in or request that the account remain active.
> If no action is taken and the account is closed, access to PlayStation Network services will end.
>Any digital purchases tied to that account, including games, DLC, and other digital content, will no longer be accessible.
According to the Terms of Service, this process is irreversible.

You're not alone in this.
Bobby Prince, the legendary composer behind the music of Commander Keen, Wolfenstein 3D, DOOM, Rise of the Triad, Duke Nukem 3D, and Quake, has sadly passed away.
His work helped define an era of PC gaming.

An artist who worked on South of Midnight says that Microsoft discourages developers from creating curvy female characters in its games.
The artist shared his own stylized drawings of Lara Croft with a curvier look, showing the difference between his designs and what is allowed in official projects.
According to him, this reflects a trend many people have noticed across several Xbox games in recent years.

One thing I really like about the retro gaming community is that some of the legends who actually created the games we love are still active on Twitter and sometimes engage directly with fans. I find that fascinating - it's always great to hear their stories and first-hand memories from that era. A few I've seen are:
Jordan Mechner (@jmechner)
Andrew Braybrook (@UridiumAuthor)
Sandy Petersen (@SandyofCthulhu)
Richard Garriott (@RichardGarriott)
I’m sure there are more, so if you know any others, please drop their handles in the comments. I'd love to follow them too!
It would be awesome to see how many of these pioneers are still around and active here. Thanks for helping out and spreading the word!
