I've seen comments like this and I figure I'll take a moment to address it.
The power dynamic between a human and non-human doesn't mean anything UNLESS it's actively being exploited.
A power dynamic between two humans exists whether it's exploited or not.
Some of you talk about non-human sex a bit too much, lol.
Yes we're attracted to animals. Good job. But you know what else is important to talk about? Animal welfare, how consent affects their life overall, etc.
If we care for animals so much, then put animals first.
I last went to Anthrocon in 2024! I’m currently watching the dealer’s den get setup, I forgot how much stuff there was.
I can’t way to spend too much money here tomorrow <3
Are you an awesome zoophile who is going to Anthrocon?
Cool, me too! If you find me, we can talk about how awesome animals are, and I have so, so, SO many stickers to share!
It's easier to form deeper bonds with someone when you both understand each other, even if it isn't perfectly.
That and just general population/exposure to non-humans.
I'm sure physical attributes play a part in it, more people will find a horse hotter than an giraffe, but I've heard coevolution may be relevant too.
For instance, we've evolved alongside dogs for 15K-20K years, we understand them the best out of all other non-humans.
@mistahsillyguy That's honestly a good question. And tbh, I don't know. 😅 But by theory is because dogs and horses are both common animals that are easier to have relationships with. Not to mention, they're considered the hottest animals in the zoo community for obvious reasons. 😅
I found this article earlier today, and while it’s interesting to read about canine biology/psychology, it’s still a bit upsetting when you think about it.

This kind of situation can highlight the disparity between human and non-human.
In some other places that have buildings or bridges where people often jump from, we’ve taken steps to prevent that, such as nets or some kind of deterrent.
Zoos: Happy Pride! Being a zoo is so cool <3

Unironically no one:
People who should see a therapist: UHM HELLO WHY ARE YOU DOG RAPISTS CELEBRATING PRIDE AND BEING HAPPY?? CANINE INTERCOUSE?!?! *Continues to give detailed fantasies of animal sex abuse*
Wild, lol....
@hereforthezoo That sucks to hear and I'm sorry you have to deal with that. I hope you're able to figure something out, and at the very least, I hope being a full time, professional zoophile is enjoyable!
@hereforthezoo lol yep that matches my experience too.
We're like a lootbox! Are you going to make a new friend or did you find someone who should probably be on a watchlist? Who knows! ^_^
As a skulldog, it's probably more than 50/50, or at least in my experience it has been!
But I figure it's hard to vibe out since we're so exceedingly rare.
(also sqirrel is a funny typo)
Neat footage of a black wolf, a fairly rare observation in our area where 98-99% of wolves are gray.
We actually collared this wolf (now dubbed Wolf G11E) later in the summer, the first black wolf we ever collared on our project. As we knew when we collared him, G11E was not part of a pack but rather a lone wolf wandering around, which is pretty common for 1-2 year old males like G11E.
The question you originally asked is important, but if you tell people the wrong answer, it can affect the well-being of other non-humans.
And again, just friendly critique <3
First, whoever wrote this, I appreciate you participating in the community and doing awesome things such as writing articles <3
But friendly critique.... What is this part supposed to mean? You asked a valid question but then did not really answer it.
We can't just give people rules without explaining the "WHY" about it as well. Otherwise, as you said, people will just fill in the blanks with their own preconceived notions.
But that's a whole different, complex topic.
