I’m appalled to hear that the federal government executed Daniel Lee early this morning after the U.S. Supreme Court issued a seemingly unprecedented opinion at 2 am. While we were all sleeping, the government killed a man under cloak of darkness. I will have more to say soon.

The death penalty is propped up by an incorrect belief that people can’t change. Billy Wardlow is scheduled to be executed today for a crime committed when he was 18. Billy made a horrible mistake, but he’s changed over the past 25 years. @GovAbbott should stop this execution.
