His outreach to the Muslim world, including his historic meeting with Grand Imam Ahmed el-Tayeb in Abu Dhabi, underscored his deep commitment to interreligious fraternity. His passing is a profound loss, not only for the Catholic community but for people of all faiths.
Pope Francis consistently emphasised dialogue, respect, and fraternity between Christians and Muslims. He saw interfaith unity as essential for peace and understanding in the world. In 2017 he said:
โWe Christians and Muslims are brothers and sisters, and we must act as such.โ
He described Islam as a religion of peace when properly understood and often called for mutual respect and cooperation, especially in addressing global issues like poverty, violence, and injustice.
Eid Mubarak! ๐
The Association of British Muslims warmly wishes you and your loved ones a joyful and peaceful Eid.
May this day bring healing to hearts and unity to communities.
Let us honour our shared humanity and celebrate the bonds that bring us together.

๐โจ Ramadan Mubarak from the Association of British Muslims! โจ๐
As the blessed month begins, we reflect on faith, unity, and compassion. Ramadan is a time for renewalโof our hearts, our communities, and our connection with Allah.
True strength lies in surrendering to the One who is free from all limits and desires. Trust in His wisdom, for He is capable of all things. Our own power is fleeting. When trials arise, remind yourself that Godโs power encompasses everything, His will overcomes every obstacle, and He is not bound by the limits of creation. Turn your heart to the Eternal, knowing no desire contains Him, and no request escapes His power.

Tragic news from Magdeburg, Germany: a car attack at a bustling Christmas market has left 5 dead and 200 injured.
European nations must act decisively, addressing the threats posed by those who exploit our openness while safeguarding our shared values.
Justice and collective security must prevail.
Thank you to HE Dr. @MohamedAlali72 and the @TrendsRA team for their inspiring visit from the United Arab Emirates. Your presence enriched the occasion and added much to it. We wish you continued success and hope that this visit marks the beginning of promising future partnerships between our peoples and nations.
Thank you to @DavidAb31097699@ibrahim_ghassan and @paulsarmstrong for helping put this event together.
In memory of my Shaykh, my guide, my teacher.
How does one encapsulate a life so luminous in mere words? You were more than a teacher; you were a lantern illuminating the path when shadows crept in. Your words were not just lessonsโthey were keys unlocking the doors of understanding, guiding me closer to the Divine. Your presence was a balm for the heart, a reminder of what it means to walk this path with humility, grace, and steadfast faith.
I am still overcome with grief, yet in this moment, I am filled with immense gratitude. You taught me not only how to learn but how to beโa servant, a seeker, and a soul striving for truth. Every prayer I utter, every step I take on this path, is touched by the light you poured into my life.
May your deeds continue to ripple through the hearts of those youโve touched. May your soul rest in the highest gardens of Paradise, enveloped in the compassion and love of the One you devoted your life to.
Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un. Verily, we belong to Allah, and to Him we shall return.
With every breath, your lessons remain alive within me. May I be a reflection of all that you taught, a shadow of the wisdom you so generously shared.
Allahumma salli ala sayyidina Muhammadin wa ala ali sayyidina Muhammadin wa barik wa salim.
