“The Lord is good to those who wait for him,
to the soul who seeks him.” Lamentations 3:25
Because while we are waiting, we are letting a hundred alternative treasures pass by without snatching at them.
God Requires Heart Worship by J.C. Ryle
The heart is the part of man which God chiefly notices in religion. The bowed head, and the bended knee–the grave face and the rigid posture–the ritual response, and the formal amen–all these together do not make up a spiritual worshiper. The eyes of God look further and deeper. He requires the worship of the heart. “My son,” he says to every one of us, “Give me your heart.”
Just in case you didn’t know and didn’t watch the video it is of Ben being honest about his own beliefs as a religiously Jewish man. He doesn’t believe Jesus is the Messiah, otherwise he’d be a Christian who is also ethnically Jewish. He doesn’t give a true feeling towards Christianity in this clip. I believe Jesus is the Messiah but he doesn’t say anything here that any other unbeliever doesn’t think and it certainly isn’t offensive to Christians, who he loves. I hope that he becomes a Christian one day but supposed Christians bearing false witness against him for being honest will make that hope a much harder reality.
You can’t hate unbelieving Jews into loving Jesus. You can’t lie about them and their motives and expect them to see the truth.
“Blackpilling is a sin…The Lord is in the business of finding the dark places and making them the brightest places.”
Not sure I’ve ever heard a politician talk the way this man does.
I think Gerwig genuinely loves Narnia and thinks she is honoring Lewis's vision.
It's just that progressives are so fully convinced of their own worldview that they believe it IS honoring the legacy of Lewis to filter it through their universalist, watered down version of faith.
"If he were alive today, he would have become a liberal like me, so I am lovingly participating in his legacy by updating it."
The sincere, nice-person, aesthetically excellent kind of subversion is the most effective. People will love the films and then begin to associate Aslan and Lewis with the very Christianity-and-water type of religion he actually was fighting hard against.

@TevinMacharia Grateful you pointed people to Scripture against sexual temptation — Jesus answered with "It is written." Keep teaching that. "Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace…" (2 Timothy 2:22).
HOW TO USE THE WORD OF GOD TO OVERCOME PORNOGRAPHY, MASTURBATION AND SEXUAL IMMORALITY
One of the weapons God has given us to overcome sexual temptation is His Word. Jesus overcame the temptations of the devil by responding with Scripture: “It is written.” (Matthew 4:1–11).
When sexual thoughts come, do not entertain them. Turn to the Word of God, meditate on it, declare it and act on it.
1. When sexual thoughts come, use Galatians 2:20.
“I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me...” — Galatians 2:20 (NKJV).
Pray: Father, in the name of Jesus, I belong to Christ. My old life was crucified with Him. I refuse to allow the desires of my flesh to rule over me. Christ lives in me, and I choose to honour Him with my thoughts, my body and my actions. Let the life of Christ be manifested in me. Amen!
2. When the urge to watch pornography comes, use Job 31:1.
“I have made a covenant with my eyes...” — Job 31:1 (NKJV).
Declare: My eyes belong to the Lord. I will not deliberately feed my eyes with what corrupts my mind and fuels lust. I choose to turn away from impure images and set my eyes on things that honour God.
Then take action: Close the website, remove the content, unfollow accounts that trigger you and put your phone away if necessary.
3. When temptation feels overwhelming, use 1 Corinthians 10:13.
“God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able...” — 1 Corinthians 10:13 (NKJV).
Pray: Father, Your Word says You are faithful. Show me the way of escape from this temptation. Give me the strength to walk away instead of entertaining these desires. I receive Your grace to make the right choice, even when my flesh desires otherwise.
Remember, God provides a way of escape, but you must choose to take it.
4. When your mind is filled with sexual imaginations, use Philippians 4:8.
“Whatever things are pure... meditate on these things.” — Philippians 4:8 (NKJV).
Declare: My mind will not become a playground for impure imaginations. I choose to redirect my thoughts towards what is true, pure and pleasing to God. Holy Spirit, help me to discipline my thought life and meditate on the Word of God.
Do not simply try to stop thinking about something. Replace those thoughts with Scripture, worship, prayer or another wholesome activity.
5. When you feel enslaved by a recurring habit, use John 8:36.
“Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.” — John 8:36 (NKJV).
Pray: Lord Jesus, I look to You for freedom. Teach me to walk in the freedom You give. Break the patterns of secrecy, compromise and repeated sin in my life. Give me the courage to seek accountability and the discipline to remove the things that keep drawing me back. Help me to walk in obedience, one decision at a time. Amen!
6. When you need strength to resist the desires of the flesh, use Galatians 5:16.
“Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.” — Galatians 5:16 (NKJV).
Declare: Holy Spirit, lead me today. Help me to recognise temptation early and respond with obedience. Develop in me self-control, discipline and a genuine love for holiness. I choose to walk in the Spirit rather than surrender to the desires of my flesh.
HERE IS THE KEY:
Do not wait until temptation has overwhelmed you before you remember the Word of God.
When the thought comes, respond with Scripture. When the urge comes, pray with Scripture. When you are alone and vulnerable, meditate on Scripture. When you stumble, repent, receive God's forgiveness and return to obedience.
Jesus said in John 17:17, “Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth.”
The Word of God must become your response to temptation, not merely something you read when you are feeling spiritual.
Read it. Meditate on it. Declare it. Obey it.
And remember Galatians 2:20: It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me.
@reddit_lies "Marxist or a liar" is so funny man. Like there is not one single example of Marxist ideals that didn't end in abject horror, and several of them happened within the lifetime of your grandparents.
What are these kids learning in school?
Gerwig is an exceptionally talented film-maker. The aesthetic quality of the trailer is impressive. If all the trailers strike this note, it will be hard for all but the most resolved audiences to resist watching.
Personally, I enjoy the cosmic rock aesthetic. It might not be the best possible option, but it resonates with the world in which we live and is akin to Lewis's own tactic in the Cosmic Trilogy - the modern imagination is still alive when it comes to space and the psychedelic tones of rock; that's fine—we can use that living margin as a way to bring in a renewed experience of the divine.
However, I predict that, like Barbie, MN will be an well-made, incredibly attractive subversion of the cosmic order, rather than a renewal of it. The sci-fi style cosmic rock won't be used to introduce us to the transcendent Christ but to transgressive magic.
A few details in the film indicate the direction of the subversion:
- Diggory is a fearful, passive dough-boy while Polly is attractive, lively, and adventurous. This is tired, typical feminist story-telling. God forbid an active, adventurous boy be shown caring about his mother and capable of a sympathetic and redemptive narrative arc.
- Uncle Andrew is far too attractive. In a world waking up to occult magic, where libraries feature books for kids on how to be a real witch, I am concerned that the film will portray him as sympathetic and his quest to unlock magical powers as something to imitate.
Based off background interviews, I believe the goal of the Lewis Estate and Gerwig is to strip Narnia of its Christianity, leaving only an attraction to the vaguely magical.
- The Wood Between the Worlds is a jungle, unlike the Sequoia-style peaceful wood of the book. This indicates a more pagan vision of the world as chaos rather than Lewis's medieval vision of a cosmic order. This is a minor detail and may be of no real significance.
- We still haven't seen or heard Aslan, but the lyrics land on "SHE'S buying a stairway to heaven" the moment when HIS outline appears, and we get a close up of Polly's face first.
It seems to me that all signs still point to an Aslan more befitting an acid-fueled rager during pride month than the Narnia of Lewis.
I love how the LOTR cast are still in love with the films. It's more than just a career high for them. They recognise that they were a part of cinematic history.
Megyn Kelly stuns the Bill Maher audience by laying out the facts about transitioning. After they recoil in disgust, Bill Maher corroborates Megyn Kelly 'We are definitely doing that':
Megyn Kelly: "What we're doing to our children with this trans insanity. We are chopping off the healthy body parts of young children."
Audience: *Recoils in disgust* "Oh god."
Megyn Kelly: "100% we are doing that."
Bill Maher: "We are definitely doing that. That's what it is. I don't know what the ooing is about."
Liberals are more disgusted at hearing the truth, than they are at adults chopping off body parts of children.
One of the most heart-breaking and tragic things I've ever read in my life was a big post on reddit from a recently transitioning transgender. It's actually a big reason why I fucking hate the ideology so much because it's full of lies.
Basically, the headline was "I didn't expect people to look at me with disgust." See, they explained that when you're going through the whole process, starting with being part of the transgender community, they talk a LOT about "transphobia". The narrative is basically that most of the world hates you for existing, that anything other than complete embrace of your identity is just pure bigotry and hatred. Meanwhile, this person realized that, as they went and did all the stuff on the way to transitioning, the looks weren't out of hatred, it was disgust. Not intentional, not like people MEAN to look at them with revulsion, it's just basically a reflex, like when you look at a bucket of maggots.
See, a big part of the narrative is based around rebellion, the idea that transitioning is some kind of attack on the evil bigots. But the poster realized that basically nobody in their life was hateful and bigoted, everyone just pitied their existence. And basically, they talked about how actually the pity and revulsion is much, much harder to deal with. Like the poster knew that if the people in their life could fix whatever the fuck was wrong with them, they would, they are decent and good people. But at the end of the day all they can really think is "I'm glad that isn't me."
The subtle implication here is that before DEI was instituted, we were all being racist/sexist in our hiring practices.
On the contrary, Bungie had great hiring practices, had many women/non-white devs on staff, and the entire recruiting team were women (who were also somehow being sexist and racist, imagine that).
So these idiots decided to rescue the game industry from their hallucinations of racism and sexism.
How did that work out?
