The absence of permanent African seats on the Security Council is indefensible.
The Security Council must reflect today’s world. This is 2026 — not 1946.
Whenever decisions about Africa and the world are on the table, Africa must be at the table.
President Isaias Afwerki and his host, President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, held extensive talks in Cairo today on bilateral, regional and international issues of mutual importance.
The two leaders agreed to deepen and elevate the historical and brotherly ties of friendship and cooperation that exist between the two countries to a higher level.
In this respect, President Isaias Afwerki and President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi agreed on the launching of concrete programmes in the sectors of marine resources, development of port infrastructure, and maritime transport within the overall economic, political and diplomatic frameworks and agreements reached in the past.
The two leaders also discussed, in greater detail, the economic, political, diplomatic and security dimensions of developments and trends in the Red Sea, the Middle East, the Horn of Africa and other international matters of mutual interest.
Foreign Minister Osman Saleh and his Egyptian counterpart, Dr. Badr Abdelatty, subsequently discussed implementation details of the agendas outlined in the extensive consultations between the two Heads of State.
Hassan Sheikh’s Electoral Model: Exposed
Based on the process observed in Southwest State, the electoral model functions as follows:
1. Political Party Membership as a Prerequisite
To secure a parliamentary seat, an individual must preferably be affiliated with the JSP party. Membership can be obtained through personal connections, political networks, or by purchasing access.
2. Using Mobile Numbers as Voter Identification
Candidates are encouraged to register as many voters as possible using mobile phone numbers as voter identification. A person may reside in Kismayo, Dhusamareeb, or Jowhar, yet register and vote as a resident of a Southwest State constituency. Voters are often mobilized and compensated depending on a candidate’s need for additional votes.
Each registered phone number also increases the JSP membership base. These numbers are retained by the party and can later be used to support JSP candidates in other states. For example many of the stored phone numbers belonging to individuals who voted in the Mogadishu district council elections may have been pulled from the database and used to support JSP candidates in Southwest State.
3. Control of the Electoral Process
The electoral commission, operating under the influence of the federal leadership, oversees the collection and tabulation of ballots. Results are not announced immediately but only after a period of counting and verification. The process ultimately ensures that JSP secures the majority of seats.
4. The End of the Secret Ballot
During elections for positions such as Speaker or President, MPs are expected to document their vote by photographing their ballot alongside their identification. Failure to comply may result in political repercussions or loss of support.
This same formula is expected to be replicated in other Federal Member States and eventually extended to future federal elections.
Let us be clear: there is no election here in the real sense of the word. It is an attempt by Hassan Sheikh Mohamud to remain in power under the umbrella of democracy.
NEW: Images have emerged showing UAE-backed RSF soldiers cruising through the Ethiopia’s Benishangul-Gumuz region, 45 kilometers inside the Ethiopian border. These footage demonstrate that Ethiopia and the UAE are training and equipping RSF fighters inside Ethiopian territory before deploying them to fight in Sudan. While the Ethiopian government is currently struggling to control regions beyond Addis Ababa, it is importing armed militant groups from Sudan, dragging the Ethiopian people into an alien war to serve UAE-Zionist interests.
📜🇪🇷 Remembering International Solidarity with Eritrea
In March 1988, British Labour politician Glenys Kinnock traveled to liberated Eritrea during the height of the independence struggle. Witnessing the resilience, determination, and sacrifices of the Eritrean people firsthand, she became one of many international voices who helped shed light on Eritrea's cause.
In her reflections, Kinnock wrote of the Eritrean people's unwavering spirit in the face of war, famine, and immense hardship, while highlighting their commitment to education, equality, and the empowerment of women even during conflict.
Her visit remains a reminder that Eritrea's struggle for independence was not only fought on the battlefield but was also supported by friends around the world who believed in justice, self-determination, and freedom.
History remembers those who stood with Eritrea.

The Sudanese RSF soldiers cruising through Benshangul Gumuz region, 45 km inside Ethiopian border. There are already so many armed groups in Ethiopia, now we have imported at least three more from Sudan/ South Sudan.
Even a judge in a court room is not safe in Abiy’s #Ethiopia! A defendant shot dead a presiding judge and his ex-wife during a court hearing on a family property dispute in Ethiopia’s Oromia region.
Ethiopian Air Force MiG-23 Airstrikes on Asmara (June 5–6, 1998)
On June 5 and 6, 1998, the Ethiopian Air Force—under the Tigray People’s Liberation Front (TPLF)-led government of Prime Minister Meles Zenawi—launched devastating airstrikes on Asmara using MiG-23 fighter jets. The Ethiopian aircraft bombed Asmara International Airport and nearby civilian areas, reportedly using cluster bombs, which resulted in civilian casualties. The bombings were widely reported by the Associated Press (AP) as having been ordered by Meles Zenawi. The U.S. State Department, in its 1999 reports and statements, confirmed that the TPLF-led Ethiopian Air Force initiated the aerial bombings against Eritrea by striking Asmara airport first, without any prior Eritrean air attacks. #Eritrea #Ethiopia #Tigray

This week, Eritrea was elected by the UN General Assembly to serve in ECOSOC for two years; (2027 -2029).
This is indeed a normative event.
And, in any case, Eritrea has both the track record and requisite credentials in regard to the main pillars and pronounced objectives of ECOSCO, i.e. sustainable development, partnership and cooperation.
But, bewildering as it is, this seems to have rattled feckless Potemkin Party minions and hired foreign lobbyists beyond measure. Because it pokes another big hole in their manufactured narrative of portraying Eritrea in pejorative labels.
Eritrea's principled and robust positions/track-record on nurturing global and regional cooperation and partnerships on the basis of symmetry and political independence; its rejection of debilitating dependency and/or act as a surrogate and pliable errand boy for extraneous forces; its commitment to pursue sustainable development - that is anchored on social justice - through the judicious leveraging of its comparative and competitive advantages are otherwise too well-known to merit elaboration here.
