there are two types of people in this world... those who use plastic water bottles and those who use reusable one. around 35 billion plastic water bottles are recycled a year contributing to land and water pollution. #apeswaste@franklinlorax (p.s. brook played great tonight!!)
@HS514096apes gravel like this at the bottom of the fish tank, is used at the bottom of landfills! This helps pool all of the water in the landfill in one place for the monitoring wells to suck out! #apeswaste@franklinlorax
The Carchesi household has a different bin for recyclables so we don’t throw them out with our regular trash and take up room in landfills; this way they can be reused to make more products! #apeswaste@franklinlorax
while recycling is a good habit to get into, it’s also sadly the least efficient and sustainable of the 3 r’s, since it takes energy to process the recycled materials. #apeswaste@franklinlorax
Radon is a radioactive, colorless, odorless gas that is very dangerous. Thankfully my basement doesn’t have any, not putting me at risk for lung cancer since radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer @franklinlorax#apesair
@nathant60219324@franklinlorax lead is a harmful neurotoxin, so it’s definitely a good idea to be careful when disposing of technology with lead batteries! #apesair
Ocean Acidification makes it harder for calcifying organisms to produce shells and corals. Shells, such as these, are becoming thinner and more fragile. @franklinlorax#apesair
my family and i are staying in the dells this weekend! :-) it was a pretty long car ride, so we unfortunately put a lot of NOX into the atmosphere. however, we all took one car rather than separate cars so at least we reduced our impact! @franklinlorax#apesair
The FHS forensics team always takes a bus to tournaments! Diesel is the most efficient and cost effective fuel for school buses, as it provides 25%-30% better mileage than natural gas buses! #apesenergy@franklinlorax
