@ThomasSowell try being a mental health worker for 12 hours a day at a psych hospital and not being able to discuss your work day with family or friends no matter how traumatizing your work day can be
man oh man i feel terrible for this generation
have people forgotten that @Nike forced allyson felix to make her own sneaker line because they wanted to decrease her sponsorship by 70% and told her to “know your place and just run” when she got pregnant?? what a disgrace to women if you ask me
I can’t wait for college football.
Imagine waking up
Cup of coffee
Full slate of college football ahead of you
Your team has a manageable noon opponent. Nothing crazy but you get to watch your boys.
You get a simultaneous big noon big 10
showdown to follow. Good game down to the wire. You watch the last 20 minutes of the game after yours ends.
You get a beautiful 2:30 game to watch on your main screen. It’s OU vs a new prime time SEC opponent. It’s a big time Utah vs Kstate big 12 showdown. It’s a good game and you watch the whole damn thing.
The prime time night games come on. You’re beer-ed up, caffeinated, and ready for a big time game in Happy Valley or Death Valley. YES.
And finally, you’re ready for one last taste. You got Michigan State at USC kicking off at 10:30 local time. Why? Don’t ask me. Doesn’t make much sense! But that’s college football. Goodbye “pac 12 after dark” hello “wtf is this game and why am I awake”. It’s beautiful.
It was a perfect day.
We are getting so close. 🥰
Some people are not good at keeping boundaries and should never work in an RTF setting. Maybe it’s the counselor in training in me, but you should NEVER be friends with your clients. I’ll never understand why staff members become friends with former Abraxas clients on FB 🥴
Ohhhh I strongly disagree with this on many levels. For starters, kids and adolescents need to be comfortable talking about their mental health even without their parents involved. I’ve seen too many cases where the parent doesn’t want to believe that their child needs help
I took my daughter to her yearly physical today (she’s still a minor) and the cheery nurse told her she will need a urine sample and oh since she’s over 15 they will need to get her cell phone number so they can call with any results and handed her the laptop to type it in. I said nope, put my number in. The nurse looked at me and said we like to call the patient for urine samples sometimes. My daughter looked at me confused and I said they are giving you a pregnancy test and they hide the results from the parents and only tell the teen. The nurse just kept smiling.
Parents, be vigilant! Do not let your child answer ANY questions a nurse hands your child on a computer or tablet without you looking to verify what it is. Let me remind you that they also give kids ages 12 and up a garbage mental health screening without informing the parent. They simply hand the child the laptop and ask them to answer a couple of questions. If they score higher than 3 on the screener questions, they answer more questions. One of these questions is how often do you think your family would be better off with you dead?
Parents, OPT OUT of all of this nonsense and do NOT leave the room if a doctor wants to be alone with your child.
Late night thoughts:
I’m thinking about those hamsters we used to play with. You could collect them all, there were toys, and there was a switch on the bottom of each one that made them move around
WHAT WERE THEY CALLED???
