See I don’t get this - the Gods are 100% in the movie. They just aren’t human figures. They are forces of nature and feeling. You feel the rage of Zeus, the wrath of Poseidon, the mourning of Hades, the wisdom of Athena, etc.
If anything, this made their impact more for me

felt my heart drop to my stomach during the entire found footage sequence especially this scene, the horror in trying to recreate memories but misremembering everything. vanishing into the floor, half-formed, disfigured, fleeting. the still lifes never quite getting it right.
