It’s easy to succeed in data/AI. All you need is to put data into a DWH for OLAP using ETL, or ELT with DBT. Spot any issues on your DAG, run SQL for some BI, reverse ETL into SaaS or use a CDP, then leverage for ML/AI with CNNs, RNNs, RLs, GANs, and maybe LLMs or LDMs for GenAI.

In real life sometimes you find yourself apologizing in situations where an apology will not make a difference for one reason or another. Or you do not get a chance to apologize. Or their apology makes no difference. or you can't trust their apology, or wouldn't if they made it.

Also, there are many, many situations in which there would be no logical reason to trust an apology in the first place no matter what. If Roman Polanski one day publishes an apology that is perfectly written to The Script, why would anyone ever believe it?

isnt it really weird that we've invented the "proper" way to apologize, created a bunch of arbitrary and specific rules around what that looks like, and act like any other form of apology betrays malicious intent

Apologizing is complicated and weird. If someone harms you the question I think you need to ask is whether they are likely to do it again or not above all else, and if you harm someone the question is whether your apology would help or if it would be more invasive than anything

but like, there are so many people who read one book written by a drunk guy four hundred years ago or something and made it their whole personality like we do need to talk about whether shit is measurably true at *some* point if we want to avoid...problems

The thing that seems cool about philosophy to me is that it is essentially mathematics performed on weird fuzzy concepts like make an equation but insert Hope where Symmetrical Triangle would be.

Been off a medication for over a week because that's how slow my doc's office apparently is at renewing these things/getting stuff sent to a new pharmacy, and while on a normal day I'm sympathetic to the medical field I'm about ready to fistfight the local clinic in its entirety
