I think these scenes are important to understanding the kind of emotional bond Xinlu and Yuri have developed. There's a noticeable shift in what Xinlu seems to turn to when he needs comfort, and I see it as a positive development in their relationship.

Yuri finds peace in water, but water doesn't seem to have the same effect on Xinlu. As it slips through his hand, he says, "That's okay." The visual of Yuri positioned between his hands makes me think that Xinlu has found something more meaningful to hold on to.

He may not find the peace he needs in water, but he can find it in Yuri. When things get difficult, he doesn't have to yearn for the same refuge Yuri seeks. He has someone he can depend on emotionally.

That's why I love the meaning behind "You are, my water." The meaning of water hasn't changed, but what it represents for Xinlu has evolved. It still symbolises comfort and peace, except that Xinlu now finds those very feelings in Yuri.
