170 artificial immersion ponds created for immersion of Shrimurti while celebrating eco-friendly plastic-free Ganeshotsav*
*Appeal to immerse idols up to 6 feet in artificial ponds as per the directions of the Hon'ble Court*
Mayor Sujata Patil and Commissioner Dr. Kailash Shinde have been continuously appealing to the citizens of Navi Mumbai to celebrate the Ganesh Chaturthi festival, which is celebrated with enthusiasm all over the world, and it is receiving a good response from the citizens.
The Municipal Corporation has appealed to citizens to install environmentally friendly idols made of shadu instead of installing plaster of Paris idols, and to immerse the idols in the artificial immersion ponds near their homes, out of the 170 artificial immersion ponds created by the Municipal Corporation in various places, instead of immersing them in natural water sources.
It is important to note that as per the orders of the Hon'ble Court and the guidelines of the Maharashtra Government, the immersion of idols of Lord Shiva less than 6 feet in height should be done in an artificial lake.
Apart from this, it has also been appealed to completely avoid the use of plastic and thermocol in the decorations of the Shree Ganesh festival and use recyclable materials such as cloth and paper. It has also been appealed to avoid harsh sounds, use musical instruments at a limited volume, and avoid the use of laser lights.
The boards have expressed satisfaction that no fee has been charged for erecting a pavilion during the Shree Ganesh Festival and that a single-window computerized online e-service has been made available for pavilion permits.
Eco-friendly Plastic-free Ganesh Chaturthi While appealing to the mandals to celebrate, ensuring that citizens have access to immersion sites close to their homes for the immersion of the Ganesh idol, a large number of artificial immersion ponds have been created, increasing the number from last year to 170.
The locations of these artificial lakes have been determined by the Circle and Engineering Department and the work of constructing artificial lakes there is now in the final stage. In this, 22 in Belapur division, 29 in Nerul division, 16 in Vashi division, 21 in Turbhe division, 16 in Koparkhairane division, 16 in Ghansoli division, 25 in Airoli division and 25 in Digha division with 14 villages are being constructed, totaling 170 artificial immersion lakes. Citizens are requested to immerse idols of less than 6 feet in artificial lakes only as per the decision of the Hon'ble Court and the guidelines of the government, and to use artificial immersion lakes preferentially even for large idols, maintaining an eco-friendly approach.
There are 22 traditional immersion sites in the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation area, and artificial immersion lakes have been being built for the past few years to divide the crowd of devotees there and prevent them from congregating at one place. Artificial lakes prevent water pollution in natural water bodies and reduce their pollution. Navi Mumbai is known as an eco-friendly city as well as a clean city, and with the creation of such a large number of artificial lakes, a positive and successful step is being taken in terms of environmental protection. This artificial lake concept is receiving a good response from the citizens every year.
The immersion system will be equipped through the relevant department offices at the natural and artificial immersion sites and all facilities like electricity, CCTV, health, drinking water, sanitation, clean transport, along with volunteers, lifeguards, firefighters, and machinery like rafts and forklifts will be equipped. The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation and the Police Department have made proper planning for the smooth conduct of the Ganesh festival.
However, the environment-loving citizens of Navi Mumbai

Bhoomi Acres' "Land Scam"
The government was cheated and the houses of the poor were looted.
@ Misled the administration, no objection letter
@ Usage permit obtained without construction
@ 20% of the house plots given to MHADA were grabbed
Thane - The builder lobby is currently wreaking havoc in the city. Thane Municipal Corporation officials are also participating in this misdeed for their own financial gain. A similar case has come to light in Kavesar. In Kavesar, 20% of the houses that were to be transferred to MHADA in the low-income group have been snatched away by obtaining a no-objection letter from the district administration on a plot of land in a project being implemented by Bhoomi Acres. This is a big scam in Thane city and cases should be registered against the directors of Bhoomi Acres who are defrauding the government. If cases are not registered, the district president of the Nationalist Congress-Sharad Chandra Pawar party, Manoj Pradhan, warned in a press conference that they will launch an agitation in the said project and urban development department after one and a half days of Ganpati. Group leader Abhijit Pawar, working president Prakash Patil, youth working president Rajesh Kadam, Sachin Pandhare were present at this press conference.
Manoj Pradhan said that a project called Lakescape is being implemented by the developer Bhoomi Acres in Thane city's Kavesar, T.D. Thane. However, as a road passed through the original plot of survey number 225 as per the development proposal, this plot was divided and the plot of survey number 225/3 became separate. Taking advantage of this technical aspect, Bhoomi Acres combined 225/3 and survey no. 124/1, 124/4 and got all the construction plans on these plots approved by the Thane Municipal Corporation's Urban Development Department. Initially, this project was to be implemented on a 6400 square meter plot. However, Bhoomi Acres took possession of the adjacent plot and set up this project on 8114 square meters. However, despite getting approval for construction on survey no. 124/1, 124/4A and 225/3 plots, no construction was done on it. According to the government decision dated November 8, 2013, if a construction is done on a plot of land in a residential area of тАЛтАЛ4000 square meters, 20% of the flats have to be handed over to MHADA. In return, the government also provides financial compensation. However, Bhoomi Acres has allotted 20% of the houses on the total area of тАЛтАЛ8114 square meters approved by it in the year 2023 without proposing them to MHADA. Bhoomi Acres has allotted the entire plot without handing over these houses reserved for the poor to MHADA. It is seen that it was assisted in this work by architects, officials from the Shakhapa Urban Development Department and some officials from the District Collector's Office.
A similar incident had taken place in Nashik too. After a thorough investigation, the builders, architects, officials from the Nampa City Development Department and some officials from the District Collector's Office were arrested. That is why Pradhan has demanded that this scam be investigated and action be taken against those concerned.
Meanwhile, he has also written to the Commissioner of Police and the District Collector in this regard. Therefore, the administration should take immediate action; otherwise, we will launch a public agitation, Pradhan also warned.

The same Bhoomi Acres that cheated the government has also cheated the government of 610 affordable houses to be given to the economically weaker section. Bhoomi Acres has cheated the government by selling the houses at market price, which were supposed to be sold at Rs 911 per square foot through ULC as per the government decision. A notice has also been issued by the Additional District Magistrate of Thane Urban Complex in this regard. However, no action has been taken. Manoj Pradhan
