Delighted to be given the opportunity to speak at the 4th ministerial meeting on AMR. Where I outlined our research that estimates that there's 28:1 return on investment for treatments to combat resistance.

@LibyaLiberty@ButchRahman Thanks for sharing the article. It’s seems like there’s a range of views to the question of who’s better for them.
Ultimately I see voting differently to you, not as an endorsement of a person, but a means to push the world towards better or less terrible outcome.
@JCMorrison74@LibyaLiberty@ButchRahman If you think that it will be no worse under Trump than Harris then fair enough. I really hope you're right.
But I think it's reasonable if someone thinks that Trump would make the situation worse, for them to hold their nose and vote for the less bad outcome.
@JCMorrison74@LibyaLiberty@ButchRahman There aren't words that capture how beyond horrific what's happening in Gaza is. But that doesn't mean it can't get worse. What food gets in could be cut off, bombing of civilians might increase, the situation may go on longer under Trump than Harris.
@Victorshi2020 I have voted in 15 elections in two countries, I've never had to queue, nor walk for more than 15 minutes to get to a polling station. That is what democracy should look like.
@JudithFreedman Thanks for answering. In 🇮🇪, my understanding is a married couple can elect to transfer unused tax credits, and money under a tax band to the higher earner. I’m sure there are complexities and a need for safeguards. But also helps a lot if one person can’t work.
Within the EU, $15bn a year is spent on treating drug resistant infections.
Building on momentum from #UNGA, @katklemperer, @JavierHGuzmanC, & @apmcdonnell offer an idea for how the new EU commission can take a global leadership role in tackling AMR:

Today at #UNGA79, global leaders approved a political declaration on AMR.

As world leaders meet to discuss antimicrobial resistance at #UNGA79, timely and powerful new analysis from my former colleague @apmcdonnell of @CGDev about the economic burden of drug-resistant infections (via @FT $) https://t.co/h3YGJfODMJ
Antimicrobial resistance - dangerous in so many ways. Always worth reading or listening to Anthony MacDonnell @apmcdonnell@CGDev https://t.co/4BCS31EX0i
Today, the world’s governments meet at the UN General Assembly to discuss a new global declaration on AMR. As I outline in the @FT, whether driven by public health concerns or hard-headed financial decisions, the case for action is undeniable. #UNGA79 https://t.co/nW7gvGOym0
