If you're in your late 20s or mid-30s, this is literally a golden opportunity. You get such opportunity once every 5-10 years, and basically a massive crash once every 20-30 years.
If you invest properly during such a time, you could be more okay than most in your 50s and onwards
Thousands of years of archery, and they never had the need to.
Europeans also did not advance archery for thousands of years. Britons and Irish even abandoned archery altogether by the Late Bronze Age and used javelins and slings instead. It was only reintroduced under Roman and medieval foreign influence.
Why do these people need to develop along the same lines? Why should they be shamed for sticking to their ancestral ways?
Also, I don't like modern bows. Lame.
@vinodsrinivasan 1. Japan grew 7x before stagnating. That's not the situation here.
2. No one is investing exactly at the peak and waiting for the next peak. They would have invested along the way, reducing their avg cost.
@irfanahmad09@Akshat_World That is growth style investing though.
Markets are pricing in higher potential for growth. Just because some market/sector/stock is cheap doesn't mean it will rise again.
USA was never "homogenous". The first settlers were Filipinos in 1587. The next settlement were slavers in Virginia 1607, they came with black slaves. Genocide of Native Americans created pockets of British colonies. The Irish and Italians and later the Eastern Europeans were not seen as part of the homogenous. In fact, "white" identity in USA is post WW2
@narayananh@DealsDhamaka This makes no sense. If it is the same brand and same model, they're not going to setup an entire supply chain to make subpar quality products to send to India.
beyond a certain net worth, negotiating with people less privileged than you (cab drivers, house help, carpenters etc) causes rot to the soul.
just overpay and move on
@AadiAchint China also did not beat their drums before they became strong.
As Deng Xiaoping said "hide your strength and bide your time".
Let's do that.
I know people in Eswatini with mathematics degrees who are raising chickens (and there is nothing wrong with raising chickens).
But in America, those same skills could earn them hundreds of thousands of dollars a year, perhaps millions over the course of a career in fields such as data science or finance.
So please stop telling me Africa is poor because Africans are not educated enough.
A degree cannot create a job where entrepreneurs are not free to create companies that need your talent.
“If you go to China and get out of the few shiny cities, it gets pretty grim pretty fast.”
Grant Newsham just revealed that China is not the juggernaut it pretends to be.
“In actual fact, it’s a very poor country.”
“There’s 600 million Chinese at least who live on $5 a day or less.”
“Youth unemployment is officially admitted to being about 17-20%, when actual fact is probably closer to 50%.”
@NewshamGrant
@MonaADhar For me it is
1. a small house with a garden
2. space enough for a dog
3. Not in the city, but near enough to have access to decent facilities
4. good food and wine
5. the ability to support this lifestyle
