🔋Congratulations to #APAMember @OrstedUS on another #Texas milestone! Old 300 Storage, a 250 MW / 500 MWh battery #EnergyStorage system in Fort Bend County, is now fully operational and delivering reliable power to the @ERCOT_ISO grid.

“Battery energy storage has played a large role in providing much needed power to ERCOT in times of tight supply and demand margins,” said Melissa Peterson, President of Ørsted Americas Onshore. “Achieving commercial operations at our Old 300 Storage project will have tangible benefits, such as strengthening #GridReliability by providing additional resources to Texas grid operators and allowing for more diverse and localized energy options as #ElectricityDemand continues to grow.”

Co-located with the 430 MW Old 300 Solar project, the combined facility will contribute approximately $110 million in local property tax revenue supporting schools, infrastructure, and emergency services.

This is Lightsource bp's third solar project in Louisiana, joining Prairie Ronde Solar in St. Landry Parish and Oxbow Solar in Pointe Coupee Parish. Together, they represent nearly 700 MW of new solar capacity delivering reliable, affordable power to the local grid while generating lasting economic benefits for Louisiana communities.
