one of my fav details upon rewatch is that Nolan’s Agamemnon is such a silent & oppressive presence but then in the underworld he speaks and instead of Vader or Batman he just sounds stunningly normal. because that’s it. all that presence, but he’s dead just like the rest of them

the reason this is the best live action to date is because they respected the magic of the original story and added just the perfect lore about ella's childhood to make it hit harder, it did not try to be something entirely different!!!

One of the biggest differences between this and most of the other remake attempts is that it visually justified itself being live action with all the detail and lighting and camerawork and narratively justified being made by adding enjoyable elements to the story.
