Cannot underestimate how this kind of thing undermines the faith. Ministers having teehee silly side benefits and posting about it is 100% self-centered, and in a most unflattering way. They make their job as uniquely situated agents of sacramental grace (*I* can’t consecrate communion, but they can) a show of the most puerile fringe benefits. These ppl repel both strangers and honest ppl who know them well. Being cutesy about these sacred things mocks the saints and winks at unbelievers that none of this actually matters. They’ll argue , “can’t a guy be a lil silly? Jesus told jokes, my guy.” They never think that they should change, even tho they have zero true fruit after years of “ministry”. The fruit they have is a nonstop paycheck and a few cherished likes from closeted gay men in the notifications.
