A community is simply a group of people that have connected with one another.
And the internet has cracked communities a long time ago. In fact, it has become incredibly good at creating communities.
Today, millions of people gather around ideas, interests, and missions online.
But most communities stop there.
They communicate.
They share.
They engage.
And then, they log off.
But what we’re focusing on with Aim States, is on those who are looking to transform their communities into actual societies.
Communities that want a system: Coordination. Organisation. Rules. Direction. Governance.
And the future may not belong to the communities with the most members.
But those that take that next step; make that leap into societal structure.
We spend a lot of time brainstorming ambitious technology that could change the world.
Everybody wants to build the next big thing.
But honestly, some of the most useful technologies ever created aren’t exactly “big”.
They’re the ones we use almost daily without even realizing it.
GPS navigation on our cars.
Smoke detectors in our homes.
Caller ID on our mobiles.
Contactless payment solutions.
When you really think about it, public good doesn’t have to be loud or flashy.
They just need to solve real problems. Really well.
Previously, we explored what a Network State imagined for women activists might look like.
But a Network State doesn't always have to be something dramatic.
Doesn’t always have to concern itself with solving a problem.
Sometimes, it can be as simple as a group of people coming together around a shared interest; a creative.
Such as writers.
What if writers across the world formed a digital nation of their own?
Poets, journalists, novelists, researchers, scriptwriters, bloggers, and storytellers of every kind.
A place where people exchange ideas, review each other's work, collaborate on projects, and help bring great stories into the world.
There could be shared libraries, collaborative publishing platforms, mentorship programs, writing residencies, and even community-funded grants for aspiring authors.
Instead of competing for limited opportunities, members could help one another edit, publish, translate, and distribute their work.
Maybe the public square is one giant library.
Maybe citizens earn reputation by contributing knowledge.
Maybe, the economy is built around knowledge, stories, and intellectual contributions rather than traditional industries.
A country built not on land, but on imagination.
What would a Network State for writers look like to you?

What a weekend!
“wait… what if we try this?” turned into very cool builds
A lot of chaos & ideas somehow became an entire hackathon!
The kind of energy we want to keep building around here
Huge ty to everyone who showed up & to #ElatoAI@thestartuppark@appetite_studio
we’re building @AimStates
in simple terms, it’s infrastructure for internet-native communities & communities that want to go digital.
for all societies that want better systems for coordination, governance, membership, and continuity as they grow
communities mostly rely on random tools or manual coordination with a lot of inconsistent governance
we’re interested in what happens when communities can operate with clearer systems with infrastructure designed specifically for them
still very early
but we think this space becomes increasingly important over the next decade
what do you think?
Singapore’s Foreign Minister, Dr Balakrishnan casually explaining how he built his own AI agent (a 2nd brain for diplomacy) using Claude & WhatsApp integration etc. on a Raspberry Pi
“You cannot govern a technology you have only been briefed on.” 🇸🇬
“Can this work for someone right now?”
@Sanjaybmath says, that’s the question founders skip
Most apps take months because they’re overloaded with features before a single user even touches them.
App14 does things differently.
We focus on speed, structure, and getting a real version live fast - in 14 days.

What Would a Network-State Imagined for Women Activists Look Like?
Women activists already have the liberty to connect online. But what if they could take one step further, transforming unsteady communities into real world support systems?
A network state for women activists could mean:
- A space for organisation
- Borderless fundraising for initiatives
- Global coordination
- Sharing details of opportunities
- Resources accessible worldwide
Safer spaces, shared ownership, global support systems; this is what the future of online communities could look like.

The avg time to BUILD & LAUNCH an app, even with AI, is 2 months
That's if everything goes right & @AppStore doesn't flag it for no reason
Why does it take 2 whole months?
Scope creep
That's too many meetings & too many cooks
So we stripped it back to a focused 14 day sprint. We'll build, test & ship for you in 2 weeks instead
We just opened slots for May so comment for link
