I get the point being made but it doesn't really align with reality. Like I wish these rich ass parents would advocate for clean air in schools, buy HEPA purifiers for classrooms. They give zero fucks about that. They don't know it's even an issue.
idk, I used to see this argument that the rich and powerful were secretly still covid/airborne aware and secretly still taking precautions and I don't think it tracks. In NYC I'm around a lot of very wealthy, savvy people and they do not have it on their radar AT ALL
Clean air for the rich! Do they have OCD? Of course not, only middle class and lower class people who are airborne aware have OCD if they are still masking and using hepa filters to clean the air! When the rich do it, it’s something different. For them, their mitigations during
I give people especially multiply marginalized creators benefit of the doubt but she has massive platform and is reinforcing a very tired, harmful talking point. I don’t want a witch hunt, and I’ll still follow her, but I’m not happy about it.
Alexis Nikole routinely shows herself wearing KN95 in her clips of traveling in shared public spaces eg by air. Bc of this, unless you have *more*, for me idk if this comment means she's the next witch to burn. Grateful enough that she normalizes masking in 2026
as someone who has built a sizable and approachable left community online, the secret sauce is routinely purging narcissistic woke scolds who deploy emancipatory language when they want to center their immediate desires selfishly as a separate convo is taking place. it’s also caused a lot of grief from ppl who see out of context clips, but nevertheless boundaries must be drawn.
I was there at the height of millennial sex positivity and everyone was also talking about STIs, safety, and consent. It is often true that the people who stigmatize sex in general are likely to also stigmatize STIs
also if we're actually being honest to god, properly sex positive we would all be getting tested for STIs/STDs with every new sexual partner with zero stigma attached but that's never discussed by ghisllenials in their male-centred conception of hookup culture, small wonder why..
Well they have a different mentality around work, into clocking in and doing the bare minimum which is their right but also don’t be surprised when corporate America doesn’t reward you for it
I saw a Gen Z dude on TikTok crashing out because he couldn't "climb the corporate ladder" when Boomers and Millennials won't retire.
Yeah, the youngest Boomers are over 60 and most of the generation is retired. The oldest Millennials are 45, a full twenty years away from retirement.
Maybe Gen Z isn't climbing the corporate ladder because so many of them are dumb as fuck.
im not interested in how often gen z are having sex so much as i am interested in how a culture of puritanical morality policing is making us more and more isolated, disconnected and hateful as a society (which, yes, contributes to less sex on average)
Honestly it’s over a decade late lol. Sounds just like the anti sex positivity backlash of the early aughts but out of the mouths of teenagers with even worse literacy and critical thinking than ever
like if your fear of casual sex makes you say things like "i cant even be around women who have casual sex, they're a danger to women" uh.... that is bad, like that is what happened on here and what we were discussing, but thanks for jumping in 2 days late and a dollar short
@Novanamix For the vast majority of us, learning to better manage distress and overwhelm about a stimulus does not mean we’re actually habituating to a stimulus. If you experience it that way, that’s fortunate for you!
1) As an autistic adult, I can’t relate 2) It’s possible you did harm you don’t realize. It doesn’t make you a bad parent. 3) Parenting is sacrifice and we are not owed anything for prioritizing our kids needs or keeping them safe. This is what we sign up for.
Do autistic adults ever realize that their entire childhood home revolved around their needs? Do they ever understand that their family members sacrificed, bent over backwards, walked on eggshells, rescheduled, went without, and took emotional beatings just to keep them safe? I see so many autistic adults who are so bitter. I see bitterness in my own child, and I am so frustrated.
@ChristianityOn Someone can be aware of cues and social dynamics but have no idea what to do with them, still suck at having a back and forth conversation, have very atypical nonverbal communication, and trouble maintaining relationships. Either way armchair un-diagnosing people is silly.
