Thank you Gold Cross Ambulance for supporting the our Tactical Emergency Medical Services (TEMS) Team with a $1,600 grant!

Funds will be used to purchase battery powered suction units that are better suited for the limited space and mobility needs of TEMS operations.

August 7, 1929 - AFD responded to College Avenue where a kettle of grease was burning in the basement. While carrying the kettle outside it overturned, spilling on Assistant Chief Michael Calnin. Michael died from burns he sustained, leaving behind a wife and children. He was 62.

Last week, your firefighters wrapped up a technical rescue training, reinforcing the skills needed for complex rescue situations.

Technical rescue calls are low frequency, high risk, which makes continued hands-on training essential.

Many people are surprised to learn that sparklers can burn at temperatures of approximately 1,200°F, hot enough to cause severe burns.
Children younger than 15 account for a large portion of fireworks injuries.

May 15, 2019 - Our brother Mitch Lundgaard was killed in the line of duty. Mitch was treating a patient for a drug overdose. The patient pulled a handgun and began shooting. Mitch was killed by the person he had just saved. He is survived by his wife and three sons. He was 36.
