“Leadership doesn’t always have to be revolutionary. Quiet inspirations that can also help to change the world.”
From exploring the value of role models, the messiness of being human, I was delighted to give a keynote speech at the @Macquarie_Uni Year 12 Leadership Forum 🦕
I am of Samoan descent (#685 to the world) and am currently active in the performing arts with Matavai Pacific Cultural Arts so just wanted to expose myself to other areas of interest during my last year of study!
Shouting to community! I'm trying to gain more experience with Pasifika communities and hoping to join some projects! Ideally community, education and youth focused! Also if anyone has any contacts for excavations in the Pacific I'm trying to expand my skills in 2024🫶🏼
Our #SuperstarofSTEM@sallykhurst shared her amazing journey as a palaeontologist & archaeologist and the many diverse opportunities that has come her way! Thank you to the @Macquarie_Uni Science Experience students for their great questions and engagement! @NISEP01@JoanneJamie2
I originally clicked and remarked how culturally different all of the scholars were until I realised the context
Look through the thread, incredibly insightful, the language used in discussions of first nations is not surprising but incredibly harmful #giveusbackourhistory
Some pretty amazing people presenting today!! Fantastic to see @mq_dha being represented at Melb Uni!!
Malo lava and a big congrats to everyone presenting and involved in NASC this year! Such a fantastic opportunity for students, academics and professionals to connect♥️
Day 2 ✅
Our first day of presentations done! We heard some amazing presentations about Vikings, Near East archaeology and geoarchaeology, and had an insightful careers panel (plus a classic night at the clyde!)
Hope you’re excited for our last day 💚

@Jessica__McK and so when we get to university we just genuinely dont know how to migrate from that and no one expressively says it is wrong or not an appropriate source so it becomes a base of knowledge
@Jessica__McK as a fellow student who used to use them, in my experience its due to schools not having enough resources to be able to get behind academic paywalls. I vividly remember writing my ext history essay with subpar references because school couldnt afford anything except outdated book
I had a wonderful time presenting at the @archaeology_mq x @MAHAstudents Student Conference tonight!
Great to hear innovative research from current archaeology students and chat about the @foundafossil project, and where their degree could take them 🥾🧠

‘If you originally thought that a career in STEM was a dusty old white dude in a lab coat, hopefully my experience will show you otherwise.’
It was an absolute pleasure to share my journey into STEM at @seamuseum_ Women in STEM panel. Check it out: https://t.co/WszmAX5yz8
HOWDY - i'm working on a news report for a uni class - if you care about accessibility in live music venues, i'd love to have a chat with you! flick me a DM or reply! #livemusic#accessibility
Last week I had the chance to run an O-Week Stall! Everyone who knows me has heard me speak about my passion for theatre, how it has shaped me and how much I love my community. I wouldn't be who I am today without @MacMSPresents, See you soon at our first show of the season!
@Baladria I did my undergraduate project in 2021 on this and the use of names! in a collection of publications & website about a nobleman depicted on a burial shroud his name was used once across a variety of sources favouring "mummy"& other terms! so surprising the removal of his humanity
