Last year, we acquired one of the world's largest collections of classical guitar music from J&J Lubrano Music Antiquarians. The #MatanyaOpheeCollection now has a dedicated website with info on the collection and a growing number of downloadable PDF files.

Many more scores will be added in the future. Note that the rare manuscripts and early prints in this collection are housed on the 4th floor of Belk Library in the @AppStateSCRC . Feel free to contact Dr. Gary Boye ([email protected]) with any questions.

Yesterday graduate students from the @music_hayes visited @AppStateSCRC as part of their library research class. Some of the items on display included a page from a medieval manuscript and materials from the Tui St. George Tucker collection.

Page from a recently-acquired shape note hymnal compiled in 1888 by the A.J. Showalter Co. of Dalton, GA: the song "Come To the Woody Dell" evokes mythological images of "zephyr's wings" and concludes with the invocation, "Fairies! Fairies! Hasten to come tonight."
