That is a great looking Choice Board @jonesWYenglish! Student choice is so motivating - what a strong example of the impact of PD and impact of planning. Can't wait to hear about the impact of student choice in reading and response! #wyproud
"...we must have the opportunity to share our thoughts with the world, but it is also important that we have the ability to listen effectively. If everyone is talking, but no one is listening, we lose a lot of learning from others’ experiences & wisdom." https://t.co/9NGTLEdkJg
William stated that “An example of really big mistake: calling formative assessment ‘formative assessment’ rather than something like ‘responsive teaching’ ” (cited in Barton, 2018). If we could wrap our minds around the idea of responsive teaching we could change the world.
How do we teach students to think? Today we saw 5th graders thinking and connecting at a deep and personal level. In 4th grade, peer reviews demonstrated that 10 year olds can be pros at providing specific feedback to peers. Thanks for the visit Trimmer! #wyproud
Wonderful Career and College Advisory committee meeting today! Thank you parents, students, alumni, counselors, teachers, and community members for attending! #wyproud
Joined math coaching with @lwybulldog to see 2nd graders analyzing a line plot, learning new vocabulary and sharing observations in the data. Finding the difference led to SO MANY different strategies used. It’s an absolute gift to see our students thinking in action! #wyproud
@MrsGilsonsClass I wish Alexis had shared “well WE don’t invite everyone over for pancakes!” 🤣 she had many answers! She really enjoyed seeing her classmates videos!🙌
Many aha moments in math today during Trimmer visits- students are showing and explaining discoveries to each other, correctly and in a variety of ways. This means STUDENTS are learning. Kid talk=student understanding. 💪🤩🙌 #wyproud
Was able to learn about line plots and fraction comparisons in 4th grade this morning! Our teachers are meeting kids where their attention is...well played @YanicksClass#wyproud@MinacciMatt
