Geelong is a marvellous city (not sure about the grit though) but when studying its history from Blainey et al , it has for some reason regularly failed to live up to expectations for expansion dating back to the 19th century. Nonetheless, it has much going for it in terms of location and infrastructure.

Oh, I agree with you. That is her role, that of the burr under the saddle of the major parties. That is what she has done for 30 years, and while I have never voted for her, not will I ever, she plays an important role in the body politic. She is a part of the creative destruction of politics which is a good thing.
