“Not until each loom is silent,
And the shuttles cease to fly,
Will God unroll the pattern
And explain the reason why
The dark threads are as needful
In the Weaver’s skillful hand,
As the threads of gold and silver
For the pattern which He planned.”
-Streams in the Desert
as much as God wants to do through you in the future, he has you where you are for a reason. so while you’re figuring everything else out, don’t miss the purpose in today. every day at work, every day at school, every conversation, every coffee hang. it’s all important to him.
“Allow Me to introduce Myself again
I was with you every place you've ever been
I'm the One that held you when you couldn't stand
If you're wondering who can heal your brokenness
I can,
I can,
I can”
-“A House on a Hill”-Amanda Cook
“...though all my ships at sea come drifting home with broken masts & sails; I will believe the Hand which never fails, from seeming evil worketh good for me. & though I weep because those sails are tattered, still will I cry, while my best hopes lie shattered: “I trust in Thee.”
“Oh, set your sail to the heavenly gale,
And then, no matter what winds prevail,
No reef can wreck you, no calm delay;
No mist shall hinder, no storm shall stay...”
Taking every thought captive is super tough emotionally, especially when what you think of sometimes is not reality and you have to replace it with what God says and you have to tell yourself no.
Renewing your mind is NOT easy and definitely doesn’t happen overnight.
If Jesus couldn’t handle all of our pain and sickness, he wouldn’t have died and rose again. But he did, so that we could have His healing power inside us by His Spirit.
Never put a stamp of disapproval on someone for their moment of failure.
God remembers us by our acts of faith and through the blood of Christ, so we can forgive and show them the same unconditional love.
“He placed me in a little cage,
Away from gardens fair;
But I must sing the sweetest songs Because He placed me there.
Not beat my wings against the cage If it’s my Maker’s will,
But raise my voice to heaven’s gate And sing the louder still!”
