@tr4nstaglia_ He had to have actually had the John Fetterman stroke that makes you conservative or something because he actively chose to make identity a bigger role than it even was in the books
it makes no sense to single out louis as „the pimp“ when every other male character takes part in exploiting women in some kind of way, at the end of the day women always get the short straw in this show
@tr4nstaglia_ Didn't catch this (for obvious reasons I wasn't paying much attention to what he was actually saying) but this is a very TVL Armand-esque line actually wow who knew they were capable
@gloriouspurpos3 Assuming you're referring to Armand--who wasn't an established character in s1--and thus you mean that he enacted anti-Black violence unto Claudia and Louis and therefore that this isn't a new phenomenon, that is a fair point! However in s2 his motivations were actually explored
I'm a bit confused as to how anyone is meaningfully attempting to analyze Armand as a character in s3 because he was made entirely into a caricature of himself and used as a vessel by the writers to enact anti-Black violence unto Louis + Regina. There's really nothing more to say
I know I’m gonna get Loucel bias allegations and yeah but HOLY FUCK. Louis is truly the only character who is held to this standard it’s fucking ridiculous
Idk man this is all true but it’s genuinely laughable at this point that in a show of John’s and men who buy and sell women that the one who has shown the ONLY remorse for it is lambasted for it.
armand didn’t torture louis to avenge sex trafficking victims, he did it because louis didn’t love him enough. since we’ve seen armand on screen he’s had naked women killed on-stage, slept with louis whilst lying about claudia, leaked a video of gabrielle assaulting lestat
you hired a black man to adapt a white character from a book… wrote him a back story rooted in his blackness but I’M the crazy one for looking at him and the things he experiences through a racialised lens
On top of the actual visual brutality that Louis has been subjected to on-screen that the other characters (save Claudia & Regina & Madeleine) have not experienced like this is just not an even playing field in any way and it is absurd to try to argue that it is
I think all Lestat stans have me blocked or I blocked them first but lorddddddddd these Armand stans are really trying it. And I say this with him as my third favorite character!
You cannot in good faith act like what Louis has done and what Armand has done are in any way equivalent nor can you deny that Louis has been repenting for his sins nonstop since the pilot episode and that neither Armand or Lestat have had to do any such thing to this same degree
