Netanyahu, Katz order wide-scale assault on West Bank villages following Nablus shooting

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and War Minister Israel Katz ordered a wide-scale military assault on Palestinian villages across the occupied West Bank on Friday after a shooting near the illegal Havat Gilad settlement, west of Nablus, killed two Israeli soldiers and wounded three others.

They also ordered the demolition of the home of the Palestinian accused of carrying out the shooting.

Israeli occupation forces launched raids across the northern West Bank, including a large-scale incursion into Nablus. Israeli Channel 13 reported that Palestinians seized the weapon of a settlement security officer before opening fire on the illegal, invading settlers.

Following the announcement, Jewish settlers attacked the nearby villages of Sarra and Urif, torching Palestinian homes and vandalising property.

Earlier Friday, four Palestinians were massacred and four others wounded, three critically, during an attack by Israeli occupation forces and illegal settlers on the town of Tel, southwest of Nablus.
