I'm a sci fi author who is completely obsessed with Minecraft. I have a youtube channel about my various Minecraft projects, have a look if you're interested:

@iJevin I see why you say that, but I also raise you how frustrating it is to deal with villagers, and how bloody long it takes to get them to the OP stage. It's its own kind of grinding for sure.
@ARStone31 I think it depends. If it's about true harm reduction (like avoiding blatant racism in older works), then it's fine. But there are big differences between true harm, offense, & discomfort. To be fair, I also think this issue is too nuanced for twitter.
@lrphilipson OK. Gross. Firstly, trash bag boots, not hygienic. Secondly, ramen really only works with boiling water in small scale, this would cool too fast. Thirdly, driving around like that would spill everywhere. Because physics. Such a waste of food just for clicks.
@lrphilipson When people are in living memory of the history, I think there needs to be adequate respect, particularly if the events are terrible. So if Anne Frank's living relatives are OK with a fictionalised version, why no?
I think, fiction is also how we process trauma as a society.
@LunaEmpath89 At high school I worked in a small supermarket, one morning I served one of my teachers just before my break. That evening I was told that he'd had a heart attack in the city at the exact same time I was serving him in town. Freaked out my friends, but I found it comforting.
Endermen. Used to terrify the living heck out of me. But they're not smart and follow certain behaviours so they're easy to trick. No longer afraid.
Still freaked out by creepers though.
What's something you used to be scared of in Minecraft but aren't scared anymore? ๐
for me, it was getting lost and never finding my base again lol. it actually happened in my first world ๐ still searching for it LMAO๐ญ
@LunaEmpath89 Some of it's cultural, I think. Like, in my family, culture & generation you just didn't talk about sexual antics. It was private. Though, in my family we didn't shame others for being different. Each to their own, as far as I'm concerned.
I meditate almost every day, so heck yeah. Nag champa. Dragon's Blood. Jasmine. Sandalwood. Lotus flower. So relaxing.
I do need air circulation, though.
@Dewiwrites If they're de-seeded and diced, they can add a pop of colour and flavour to various types of salads...?
Or you could find a foodie friend who'll take them. That's what I do with food I don't really know what to do with.
@lrphilipson He really needed to add some decent context. I have no idea what he's meaning. I mean, the act of world building is like 1/3rd of my job as a sci fi author? Is it the word itself he doesn't like? Or that sometimes the worldbuilding can get in the way of the writing?
Confused.
Had a bit of a hiatus, may or may not come back, it's pretty terrible in the twitterverse right now for weirdos like myself. But here's a new video to whomever is out there interested in my Minecraft builds:
