The FBI, MI5 and intelligence agencies from Australia, Canada and New Zealand just issued their first ever joint public warning.

China’s military intelligence is using LinkedIn, Indeed and Upwork to recruit Americans and allied nationals who have access to classified information.

They post fake job listings, rank resumes based on who has the most sensitive access, then build long term relationships to extract government secrets. Targets include military personnel, defense contractors, government employees, academics and journalists.

Simply sending your resume to one of these fake job postings puts your personal information and security at risk. Chinese military intelligence officers specifically target security clearance holders including those working in defense, security and foreign affairs.

If you receive an unsolicited job offer from someone you do not know - verify everything before you respond.
