🧵/ How Wales voted at the 2026 Senedd election: our new study based on reanalysing the data behind our successful pre-election MRP identifies the key demographic and political divides behind the new Welsh party system
Mae pob disgybl yn haeddu dysgu am hanes eu cenedl fel rhan o’r cwricwlwm Cymreig.
Mae’r llywodraeth Plaid Cymru hon yn deall hynny, a sut mae hanes Cymru nid yn unig yn bwysig i ddeall pwy ydym ni, ond sut ydym yn adeiladu Cymru’r dyfodol. 🏴
#OTD in 1981, on a blisteringly hot day, the former Soviet Union (USSR) played their last ever game on British soil in a World Cup qualifier at the Racecourse. A hard fought 0-0 draw in front of 29,366 fans.
Ever wonder why Wales' railways are so bad?
Many people don't realise how much Wales has been screwed over when it comes to rail funding.
Decisions to class projects like HS2 (that are only in England) as "England and Wales" robs us of billions.
It also shows why NOT devolving certain areas allows successive UK Governments to underfund us compared to Scotland and Northern Ireland.
It's complicated but people need to understand how the system fails Wales in order to demand change for the better.
It is 20 years to the day since Wales played The Basque Country at San Mamés in Bilbao. A few years back I wrote about the match and the special relationship between Cymru and Euskal Herria! Gora Euskal Herria! Gora Cymru!#Cymru#Euskadi

HS2 is expected to cost over a £100bn - meaning Wales is now losing out on £5.8 BILLION. 🤯
The people of Wales refuse to be treated as second-class passengers any longer.
The UK Government must devolve rail to Wales and ensure fair funding for our communities. 🏴
A foul-mouthed racist and bigot has posted a video to social media announcing himself as Reform UK’s candidate for a council seat vacated by a Plaid Cymru councillor who was elected this month as an MS ✍️@ShiptonMartin https://t.co/SDbkEHKz4w
Pleased to speak with the Prime Minister today, who congratulated me on my election as First Minister.
We agreed to establish a constructive relationship between our governments.
I raised the urgent need to devolve more powers to Wales.
We agreed to meet in person in June.
📷Remarkable from @Ffototawe Chris Reynolds:
His B&W photo from 1991 shows a young Rhun ap Iorwerth (expand to see on right), facing police, protesting outside the old Welsh Office building in Cardiff - exactly the spot where he stood yesterday as First Minister leading Plaid Cymru’s first ever government
Just spoken to Chris - he was a student at Aberystwyth at the time who had been documenting protests like these.
This event was part of the campaign for a Property Act by Cymdeithas yr Iaith (the Welsh Language Society) @Cymdeithas
The banner on the steps reads: ‘Nid Yw Cymru Ar Werth’- ‘Wales is Not For Sale’
Is that another Plaid leader-to-be - Leanne Wood - in the background?
