माननीय सांसद जी, बात किसी को बेवजह दोष देने की नहीं है, बात जिम्मेदारी की है।

AIIMS Jodhpur के Director की जिम्मेदारी सिर्फ मरीजों का इलाज सही से करवाना ही नहीं है। अपने यहां काम कर रहे रेजिडेंट डॉक्टरों की सुरक्षा, उनके काम के घंटे, आराम और नियमों का पालन करवाना भी उनकी जिम्मेदारी है।

एक बार अस्पताल जाकर खुद देखिए कि रेजिडेंट डॉक्टर किस हालत में काम करते हैं। कई बार 24-36 घंटे तक लगातार ड्यूटी, पूरी नींद नहीं, ठीक से खाना खाने तक का समय नहीं। संसद की समिति ने भी 36 घंटे तक लगातार ड्यूटी किए जाने की शिकायतों पर चिंता जताई है।

Residency Scheme 1992 में काम के घंटों और आराम को लेकर साफ नियम हैं। सवाल यही है कि अगर नियम पहले से बने हुए हैं, तो AIIMS Jodhpur में उनका पालन क्यों नहीं हो रहा?

जब संस्थान के प्रमुख के पास अधिकार भी हैं और जिम्मेदारी भी, तो उनसे सवाल पूछना गलत कैसे हो गया?

अगर Director से भी जवाब नहीं मांगा जाए, तो माननीय सांसद जी आप ही बताइए — फिर जवाब किससे मांगा जाए?

🚨 HOW MANY MORE LIVES BEFORE RESIDENT DUTY HOURS ARE REFORMED?

FAIMA stands firmly with the residents of AIIMS Jodhpur following the tragic demise of Dr. Rajnaresh Yadav.

24–36 hour continuous duties, severe sleep deprivation, crushing workloads and denial of adequate leave—even when residents are sick—must never be normalised as medical training.
Residents are doctors, not machines. Illness requires rest and treatment, not pressure to continue working.

FAIMA demands enforceable national duty-hour limits, mandatory post-duty rest, adequate staffing, a fair sick-leave mechanism and institutional accountability.

Exhaustion is not training. Denying genuine sick leave is not discipline.

💔 Another young doctor lost.

Dr. Raj Nilesh Yadav, 31, an Anaesthesia resident at AIIMS Jodhpur, was found dead during duty. Police are investigating the death as a suspected suicide.

Allegations of repeated 36-hour shifts without adequate rest raise serious questions about the working conditions of resident doctors.

Doctors are humans, not machines. 36-hour continuous duties cannot be normalised.

For a long time, I have changed my practice of caring for critically ill patients referred to me towards a more home-based hospice care approach - because right now, in Indian healthcare, dying inside hospitals is the biggest business. If doctors are sure the patient is not going to make it, they must offer them the option of dying with dignity in the comfort of their home, instead of escalating treatment and bankrupting families who live on the fringes of financial breakdown.
