Amorim had the physicality and fitness levels at an all time high last season.

Carrick took over, shortened the training sessions and benefited in the short term from all the work that had already been done.

Now that he’s had to handle it all himself, the players aren’t even match fit after pre-season. That’s honestly worrying because this shouldn’t be happening at a club like United.

Forget about losing the game, the fact that players didn’t even look fit is CRAZY.

It genuinely seems like Carrick and his staff didn’t even have a basic fitness and conditioning program in place for pre-season. Tielemans said it was mainly ball work which is so bizarre.

Even amateur clubs follow some kind of basic program with plenty of aerobic and anaerobic work but after what I saw on the pitch today, I’m honestly lost for words.

How can this happen at a club like Manchester United?
