I am saddened to hear Mr Harry Jayawardanas death. I knew him not only as a successful businessman but also as a good friend. Being strait forward person he always say things without reservation. May his soul rest in peace.
Congratulations, Sri Lankan cricket team for winning the Asia Cup for the fifth time. Young team played very well. My congratulations to the coach and the Board of cricket and the selection committee.
Congratulations Ahimsa great victory.I know the difficulties you all underwent to come to this position.coming from Welpalla in Kurunegala district a rural area practised in makeshift house you have proved your class. My congratulations to your able coach too.
I am saddened to learn the unnecessary intervention by the armed forces and the police to disperse peaceful unarmed protesters by using force. We all must respect the democratic right to peaceful demonstrations by the people.
Party leaders have spoken. H E the pre must now resign forthwith to allow the parliament to elect a new president. His administration completely ruined the economy. He has to take the responsibility .
@LankaNewsNow @RW_UNP I don’t think it is proper to go to this low level. They say they believe in democracy. I have a different feeling. They have no values.
I’m deeply saddened by the news of my friend Salinda Dissanayake’s demise. He contested for Parliament from my district since 1994 and we fought many battles together to achieve the victory for the SLFP in the most difficult of times. May he attain supreme bliss of nirvana!
It is important to strengthen the intelligence agencies and give them free hand to operate within the limits to safeguard the country from this type of attacks This Govt always try to find faults and disregard there advice The result is this .Accept the failure and resign.
It’s quite strange that even when information regarding this type of attack was known to defence establishments why did they kept quiet I was informed by my security officials to be careful during this time but they did not take any action to safeguard the lives of others
It’s strange that no preventive action taken even when intelligence services warned a possible attack and who will take the responsibility for the lapse
It’s heartbreaking to see new type of terror attack in Colombo and other places. During these few years the government did not listen when they undermine the capabilities of national intelligence establishment. Now what happened. Innocent people had to pay a heavy prize.
Says something about the Government when a state minister has to tweet re opposition MPs in government delegations. The #CoupLK may have galvanized many to stand up for democracy in #SriLanka in 2018 but amnesia & complacency has returned in 2019!
