@RanaAyyub says the person who writes for the Washington Post! When american dollars are involved clearly the threshold for "independent" media loosens #democracydiesinhypocrisy
average Indian go there b/c they are particularly fond of its natural beauty, history, or architecture? Some do, no doubt about it. Are they going because it offers such economic opportunity - in renumeration, growth or specialization in subfield? Definitely not. Polish people
@bhaumikgowande The left photo really does not look that bad. Its cars parked in residences. Rather than upper middle class residential areas, I think energy should be focused on public spaces, low income areas, and informal settlements. The targetted benefits of will be outsized for everyone.
@sumitkbehal People keep posting stuff like this..but you're literally staying in the nice touristy area. It's like going to french quarter in pondicherry or colaba in Bombay and comparing it to the worst parts of the US. Why do indians adulate literally any other foreign country blindly?
@TeamYouTube Yes, I have reported both the Small-Brained Pod and Small-Brained American channels for repeated violations of YouTube's hate speech rules - that I have highlighted above. Please consider taking down the listed videos and suspending these channels.
@theliverdoc If the West started embracing ayurveda, I bet your opinion would be very different. Do "super foods" (eg turmeric) and "mindfulness" and hot yoga ring a bell?
They are shielded from the actual problems of India. In fact, they literally strive to run away from them. I hope that the youth world over start ditching apathy as well.
"The burden of work and the pursuit of personal gain prevents people from moving beyond their bubbles of safety, to be part of a process that is larger than just them."

This inequality creates a cushion of privilege. India youth may still hold core values on what their society should be like. But they lack the will to act on it because it does not contribute to their personal gain, whether its getting that cushy government job or going abroad.

Air pollution is a matter of life and death. It is high-time that it becomes a political and public policy priority. @sabookartik and I argue that addressing bureaucratic inertia, civic apathy, and entrenched habits are key to cleaner air and health.

"Trusted geographies" meets "Trusted connectivities". Don't dismiss the India-Middle East-Europe Corridor as a BRI clone. It has more depth and potential because it connects independent and viable economic ecosystems. My piece in @EconomicTimes https://t.co/qu7JvPDH6z
This is a shame Indian government and Delhi Police called on itself. Wish the Sports Ministry and Women Ministry had shown the spine to stand up for what was the right thing to do rather than over their politics. Wish India’s PM had lived upto his words of Naari Samaan rather than turning a blind eye to the protests. Their silence led to this statement from UWW.
Attended the Global Buddhist Summit 2023 in New Delhi. Graced to be in the presence of @DalaiLama@PMOIndia @mingyurrinpoche. Heard from scholars, and practitioners about the role of dhamma philosophy to address our contemporary challenges from environment, peace to mental health
Very promising news for emerging markets world over. Although increasing EV stations seems like a costly endeavor - there must be cheaper, more feasible alternatives? Also wondering how the transition to solar/renewable sources will play out.

@captgouda24 Is this living proof of the Rawlsian model where some inequality is good for society and incentivizes the productivity of most skilled and motivated members of society? After all, the generation after the revolution also benefitted from the market reforms.
