My date came with 3 of her friends. Before they even looked at the menu, she introduced me and said, "Don't worry, I'm paying Asa is our guest tonight." They ordered a lot of food, we had a great time, and all of them texted me later to thank me for coming. This a good reason why you should meet go for girls who got their shit together
i was at a coffee shop yesterday when a woman at the table next to me suddenly asked the barista,
“do you still have the note?”
the barista looked confused.
“what note?”
the woman pointed at the cup sitting on the counter.
“the one from the guy who comes in every thursday.”
the barista went pale.
she grabbed the cup, opened the lid, and found a folded piece of paper underneath.
she read it once.
then looked at the woman and said,
“he’s coming in today.”
the woman nodded.
“i know.”
i was obviously pretending not to listen.
ten minutes later, a man walked in, ordered the exact same drink, and sat in the corner.
the barista walked over and handed him the cup.
he opened the lid.
read the note.
and immediately started crying.
apparently, the woman had been his wife.
she'd died two years earlier.
and the note was written in her handwriting.
People with CPTSD may need a LOT of sleep. A big part of healing can involve giving yourself permission to rest. You’ve been through a lot. Your body and mind have carried so much, and you have to let them recover. Even before you start addressing your wounds, you may need to simply sleep.
CPTSD healing also means not shaming yourself for things your body can’t do yet. If you don’t have the energy, that’s okay. Give yourself grace, patience, and time.
When my brother was in kindergarten, my mom absolutely hated him shortening Christopher to Chris and told him he had to use his full name.
The problem was, "Christopher" is a pretty brutal name for a kindergartner to spell. At parent-teacher conferences, his teacher said he was doing fine but suggested we let him practice writing his name, maybe even shorten it to "Chris." Then she pulled out a stack of his assignments, and my dad started laughing so hard he had to step outside because my brother had proudly signed EVERY SINGLE PAPER "CHRIST" in huge kindergarten handwriting.
My uncle took his former landlord to small claims court over a $1,800 security deposit, and the landlord showed up with a surprise $3,400 countersuit for “property damage.”
My uncle moved out on April 12 after cleaning the apartment from top to bottom. He took photos of every room, recorded a video during the final walkthrough, and left the keys exactly where the landlord told him to.
The landlord had the required period to return the deposit or provide an itemized list of deductions.
Instead, on May 2, he texted my uncle: “There were extensive damages. The entire deposit will be used.”
No photos.
No receipts.
No contractor estimate.
Not even a list explaining what supposedly needed to be repaired.
My uncle asked for an itemized breakdown.
I was sitting at the airport waiting for my flight when I heard my name over the speaker.
Not my last name.
My full name.
I walked to the gate thinking they needed me for something.
The gate agent looked at my boarding pass and said:
“Are you traveling to Denver?”
