THE SOCIAL RECKONING is an old-fashioned investigative journalism drama from Aaron Sorkin examining the dangers and manipulations of Facebook, as they prioritize profits over people at an alarming rate of growth. As usual with Sorkin, it moves at a good pace, plowing through facts and figures at a mile a minute while delivering colorful dialogue that occasionally makes you laugh, though mostly because you know there’s no world in which actual human beings, either online or in real life, would ever talk like this. Thankfully, the film doesn’t simply recycle what worked in the far superior 2010 film (Alexandre Desplat’s score is entirely original), allowing it to stand on its own. That doesn’t mean the comparisons will stop but the far greater problem is that what’s here is neither particularly interesting nor revelatory. The performances range from fine to mediocre, while the material feels like it’s arriving five years too late. An eye-rolling film with good intentions but will probably not receive many likes or re-shares.
‘Coyote Vs. Acme’ Has Now Surpassed $110 Million at the Worldwide Box Office!
Warner Bros. originally planned to abandon the movie as part of a tax write-off before Ketchup Entertainment acquired the worldwide rights in 2025 for a deal reportedly worth around $50 MILLION.
The film itself had a reported production budget of approximately $70 MILLION.
Coyote vs. Acme received its DIGITAL RELEASE on SEPTEMBER 29, 2026, just over a month after its theatrical debut.

The new Street Fighter movie is taking the game accuracy seriously.
Ryu has the Hadouken. Ken has the Dragon Punch. Guile has the Flash Kick. Chun-Li has her Helicopter Kick. Even Zangief’s wrestling style looks ripped straight from the games.
And the movie reportedly includes a tribute to Evo Moment 37, one of the most legendary moments in fighting-game history.
This isn’t just Street Fighter characters wearing costumes. They’re actually fighting like Street Fighter characters.
The fact that Coyote Vs. Acme both managed to be somewhat of a box office success after all it went through really is proof that execs do not know anything about what the audience wants from films. And I'm glad it was one because it deserved to be since it was just great.
