@Brady_H Its easier to not give your kids tablets when they have siblings. I don't feel the need to entertain my kids as much now that there are three who are old enough to play together. We do some screen time, but they spend most of their free time playing (and sometimes fighting lol).
@JoelWBerry Also, 80 schools in IL have zero students who are proficient in math and 1 in 3 students can't read very well. Quick googke search pulled that up. IL public schools have serious problems, it seems.
@michaeljknowles Here's what I never understood. God is a God of creation. He IS life. How can a living thing cease to exist and that not be against God's nature? I'm not a huge animal person, but I don't get how logically pets don't go somewhere when they die.
@melliellimelli@tiggerbluedevil@vvalkyri@Whatevawhateva8@memeticsisyphus Plus they don't deliver everywhere, AFAIK. Walmart just started delivering to our area ~6 months ago and we're honestly not *that* far out in the boonies. I assume there are more secluded places they don't deliver to
@tiggerbluedevil@vvalkyri@Whatevawhateva8@memeticsisyphus Well then what are you even arguing lol? Weren't you saying that "they have access" via a bus? I assumed you were saying food deserts weren't a problem but maybe I misunderstood what you were implying.
@tiggerbluedevil@vvalkyri@Whatevawhateva8@memeticsisyphus If you live rurally without a reliable car (even if it's only because you got in an accident or whatever), that sounds pretty limited to me. And a food dessert doesn't make it impossible to get healthy food. I just said it could be a problem for some people
@tiggerbluedevil@vvalkyri@Whatevawhateva8@memeticsisyphus Sorry I thought you were saying food deserts don't exist. They exist in rural and urban areas. Food desert only means limited access, not no access. I'd consider having to juggle an hour bus ride to and from the grocery store limited.
@tiggerbluedevil@vvalkyri@Whatevawhateva8@memeticsisyphus "An issue" is not the same as impossible. Most things aren't impossible, but let's not pretend like it's an easy thing to do. We all have challenges, sure, but that doesn't mean food deserts don't exist.
Also, there is zero chance of getting a regular bus in rural areas.
