Because the Spurs can’t afford to sit still. There’s real room to improve this roster without mortgaging draft capital for one overpriced name as well.

Every team in the West is coming. OKC isn’t slowing down. Denver will be back. Minnesota will be better. Utah is trending toward the playoffs. Portland is building. I can keep going.

And wasting cap space on marginal returns isn’t the answer either. This offseason has to mean something.
