Implementing networking with hand tracking through the new avatar system of #Oculus makes the experience immediately more expressive and immersive (networked physics helps too 😉)
I have been working on a turn base poker combat game the last few weeks and a playable version is finally available on itch (made in #bevy). It can be played in the browser directly and feedback would be highly appreciated!

@ArmedJ0y As a gamedev, I really like how valve enforces rules which allows us to continue to produce premium titles which can be sold at reasonable prices.
@AndyMorphs Thank you for worrying about us. It has indeed changed a lot. We are about to release our next game (beta starting this week), and really hope we manage to find a way that people can find it 😅.
@benz145 I have seen many VR folks over at Bluesky, but haven’t found all of them yet.
Hope it’s that and not that the interest in VR news is going lower, we barely have Christmas behind us.
@Heaney555 That is indeed not certain, then let’s assume they get 0%. Then still the reality labs part only grew revenue by 12% in 2024, this is not enough to be considered worth while to focus on for meta. So they have to shift strategy and focus on a segment with more growth potential.
@Heaney555 Calculations are based on their last investor presentation and the leak of the number of ray bans sold.
If you track the public numbers of reality labs you can see that the quest total revenue (including store etc.) appears to have decline since a while.
@Heaney555 Retention numbers and ray band glasses have growth, quest had roughly a 12% decline last year (based on my estimates).
If quest is already declining with such a low cost device, and absolute hits like Batman, meta seems to have lost interest.
@Lunayian @James_Abev You mean because they put horizon world into the quest app instead of making it a separate app?
Or because they have to compromise the visuals to be able to support VR at the same time?
I made a thing, and it’s called Fling a Ding (working title 😅).
It’s a physics based Highscore chaser, which my friends tell me is slightly addictive and made for mobile!
Please check it out on itch: https://t.co/4g2eJxsLvW
And let me know what think!
