@StatsMan@MUAgendaPusher@MikeWatersSYR I’m more focused on the point of the tournament. Analytics cannot capture the essence of a team, and in the tournament a 1 point win means just as much as a 30 point win. If it were just about selecting the top 68 teams, we wouldn’t have automatic qualifiers.
@StatsMan@MUAgendaPusher@MikeWatersSYR Genuine question. Why even play March Madness then? Just crown an analytics champion after the regular season and call it quits. I love analytics and don’t think Miami OH is going to go on a big run, but Syracuse would almost certainly not be 29-0 even with Miami Ohio’s schedule
@ScottKacsmar The Cowboys are evidence for the point you are trying to discredit. They knew they had to onside to win, and that’s why they won. 1/26 vs 7/138 is essentially the same, but one is backed by logic.
The benefit of going for 2 first is not to go 8->7 but to know result of the 2PAT
@LasagneWest@esjesjesj Half his campaign was screaming how he’s going to lower prices across the board like magic. He promised his most prominent policy proposal - tariffs - would not inhibit that. 2 months in and his right hand man is admitting that one drawback of said proposal is price increases.
@SethDavisHoops If they don’t care about creating a competitive and fair league, fine, but don’t be surprised when entire low major conferences start dropping from D1 because they are bankrolling Power 4 player development for free.
@SethDavisHoops The players are not the problem. They should be able to transfer and make money. However, if the NCAA wants a truly competitive and “fair” bball league, they either need to implement contracts/buyouts for players or separate the power 4 from the rest, a la FBS/FCS in football.
Thank you to Tom Ricketts for saving me a couple hundred dollars I was going to spend on https://t.co/6cO0XCpjBp. Could’ve had my money if you did the bare minimum to invest in the very clear weakest position on the team. Ended the season before it even began. @Cubs
@CBB_Central That is the talent that is being pooled at the top. Look at the sweet 16 starting 5s. 26/80 starters began their career at mid major schools. 34/80 began at a school that didn’t make the tournament this year.
@CBB_Central There is not a perfect correlation between NIL and success, but NIL is now a prerequisite for success. The only parity that can exist now is confined within the group of schools that have money. All the above schools do. My concern is for the 80% of schools that don’t: mid majors
