My graphic shows all entire homes listed on Airbnb in An Daingean (Dingle), which had a population of 1,671 in the 2022 Census, in County Kerry, Ireland. It’s no wonder seasonal workers in Dingle, including waiters, bar staff, chefs, and others, can’t find places to stay: short-term lets, including Airbnb landlords and holiday-home owners, are forcing native speakers out of Gaeltacht areas.

@MickPuck Arguably, it’s potentially present in this melody, but Ó Riada keeps the harmonic rhythm simpler for his fun, creative setting, which draws on a classical idiom https://t.co/nFgtLxXwnC

I dtuarascáil ón gComhchoiste Oireachtais ar iascaireacht agus Gnóthaí Mara, tá éileamh déanta go ndéanfaí rialáil níos géire ar bháid ón iasacht a bhíonn ag iascaireacht i limistéar eisiach eacnamaíochta na hÉireann. Tá an scéal ar fad ag Ailbhe Ó Monacháin.
@fallon_donal@theirishstory O’Malley & his works certainly fascinating; his interest in songs noteworthy, a considerable number extant in his MSS.
Two other works - as Gaeilge - on the revolution merit more attention than they generally receive: Colm Ó Gaora’s “Mise”; & Tomás Ó Máille’s “An t-Iomaire Rua”
