سخنگوی وزارت خارجه آمریکا در پاسخ به سوال خبرنگار ایران‌اینترنشنال درباره بلاتکلیفی و معطلی دانشجویان ایرانی برای اخذ ویزای تحصیلی آمریکا گفت: ما اختلافات شدیدی با رهبری در ایران داریم اما نه با مردم ایران که قربانی سرکوب و قربانی تاکتیک‌های وحشیانه رژیم ایران هستند. آمارها نشان می‌دهد که ۱۰ هزار دانشجوی ایرانی سال گذشته تحصیلی در آمریکا تحصیل کردند، در واقع شمار دانشجویانی که به آن‌ها ویزا دادیم ۱۶ درصد به نسبت سال قبل افزایش یافت و انتظار داریم که این تعداد همچنان افزایش یابد
