IMO if you are shielding your kids from multiple view points and denying your kids the ability to learn from people more educated than you on topics that you THINK you know about, you are hurting your kids ability to grow into a healthy member of society and most importantly the best version of themselves they can be.

yes, parents should be allowed to teach their kids what they want to teach them, BUT parents will and should NEVER be the sole view that is put onto kids. parents should be guiding their kids and giving them the tools to take in as much knowledge as possible to come to their own conclusions while also offering their own views.

i mean, it’s currently 2023. tons of people have access to the internet and there are so many children already on the internet with access to viewpoints from all over the world. why try to hide that LGBTQI+ exists in schools? it won’t work lmao. your kid will run into people in that description, or even be someone in that description, let them accept themselves and not go through years of mental turmoil and confusion simply because you’ve got a boomer ass view on the world that you’re trying to instill on your child.

i think the silliest part of all this discussion is that this all started because a schoolboard wanted to recognize June as pride month. not that the school wanted to start a class focused around LGBTQI+, but that’s enough for people to start saying crazy shit like “they’re trying to groom our kids!!”

anyway, i could go on for too long about this and probably be more detailed in this post but whatever. you should want your kid to experience as much as possible (that isn’t harmful) especially given the world is constantly evolving. don’t deny them of that. and if it wasn’t obvious LGBTQI+ people are definitely real people that exist that your kid will experience and maybe be apart of and being apart of that community isn’t something they just randomly decided on because their teachers told them about it lol
