This is more complex than people are realizing. Infold CANNOT defend themselves at this point.

The Chinese state media made an article about them. This is not like CNN or CBS making a statement. This is essentially the mouthpiece of the Chinese Communist Party. If you're looking at this through the eyes of someone in an uncensored country, you're looking at this wrong.

Contradicting state media is essentially defying the government. Doing so could be a death sentence to their company.

​If Infold released a statement arguing that the state media misunderstood the trope and that the Valko isn't actually dangerous, it could be interpreted as a refusal to accept regulatory guidance and an unacceptable implication that the state is wrong.

The only thing they could do in that moment was try to stop the initial backlash and find a solution. We need to give them the time to comply with the government orders and find a way to prove themselves innocent without committing social suicide.

I understand everyones feeling, as I've been furious too. I didn't initially realize how bad the situation was and solely blamed them for ignoring us as well.

We all know Infold. They create wonderful characters, but they're money hungry. They would not give up a character and keep him gone knowing how much money he'd make. They were extremely adamant that he was staying until the day things got out of control in the media. That post by state news was essentially a government warning for them.

Infold hasn't even updated their pinned posts, it's on the movie banner still (two banners behind). I'm sure they'd much prefer to advertise Wander in Wonder and try recoup their money.

So many of us did not realize how deep this goes. But we need to acknowledge it now.

We deserve to be mad about many things, as Infold has things they should have fixed years ago.

But this current situation is out of their control, it's a smear campaign that went way too far because of a couple toxic antis who weaponized false information.

Okay... So now that I have chilled out and reviewed everything, I am 99.9% sure he is being worked on and will be released SOON.

The government article states "As of now, the relevant character and plots in the game have been taken offline for rectification, a measure that responds to public concerns."

They state as of the time of posting the relevant PLOTS and CHARACTER (Valko and Xavier's underground story) have been taken offline FOR RECTIFICATION (correction, removal of errors etc.)

This is LITERALLY telling us that papergames has temporarily removed the character and story in order to remove the "offensive" content.😪

So in short YES, Valko is coming back but he is also having his story altered a bit to remove the "wolf at the door" part that was mentioned in the article..

It would be NICE to have a statement from the actual company about this, but im sure they have their reasons..

I will be patient. I also just talked to my partner about this and he urged me to also be patient... agh.. 🫠
