@brader I think that was the whole “beep bop boop” thing. Some fans tried to claim she was using “droid speak”, but no, she was just being a jerk about pronouns.
@lucasverse The Jedi have always known of compassion. But after years of suppressing their emotions for fear of acting on them, they had forgotten its true power. Otherwise Luke’s actions at the end of the Saga would have no meaning.
@I__Jedi @brader@lucasverse@Knuckle_HeadTV I dearly wish this had been acknowledged in the sequels. Instead, Johnson either forgot this or ignored it to tell his “beautiful” story, which had already been told, much more skilfully, by Lucas.
@I__Jedi @brader@lucasverse@Knuckle_HeadTV Thanks for this. I was having trouble with the concept of positive and negative attachments, and thinking of compassion as the opposite of attachment helps.
@I__Jedi The unfortunate thing is that it’s driving the narrative that “diversity ruined Star Wars”. Bad writing and lack of communication ruined the sequels, not diversity.
This is important.
I loathe the sequels. But it’s increasingly difficult for me to discuss my dislike for these boring, unoriginal films without being pulled into some racist or sexist tirade by some twit convinced that diversity somehow ruined Star Wars.
Aided by an analysis of over 1M tweets&1K YouTube videos, this is the full story of alt-right radicalization in the Star Wars fandom.
From designated white supremacist hate groups to YouTubers, this is how hate attacked the Star Wars sequel trilogy & won: https://t.co/Z3I34cwiHe
@Sheev066 I don’t agree with his opinions and attitudes towards Star Wars, or his desperate justifications for the sequels.
But I’m not going to give him a hard time about his father. I don’t know what happened, and I’m not going to use that as an excuse to attack a fan I disagree with.
